Re: My new Atlas bipod!
True. But there are also lots of "I got my atlas bipod yippee" threads, did there new to e another one? It just made more sense to post in the most recent thread onthe subject. Specifically I wanted to see why the op chose to get an atlas bipod over other models. But thank you for the information. I probably need to handle one myself to understand the drastic price difference

+1 on that. Everyone keeps talking about these bipods and I see them everywhere. From users, what's all the fuss about? Differences from Harris? </div></div>
Jon, TMC...not criticising you or wanting to sound like a grouch but there is a sh1tload of "What's so good about the Atlas?" posts on the Hide with a LOT of input from those that have them and love them, those that have tried them but stayed with what they had and those that have not tried them but still have an opinion...rather than just post the same old same old here...use the Search function, it's out there if you look.
To summarise - I've run Harris, AI/PH and Atlas. Atlas wins hands down....why? Not saying that other solutions don't provide some of these facilities (i.e if you add PodLock etc. to a Harris) but for me:
1)45 degree capability
2) Choice of attachments mean I can run with my AW/Spigot mounts or railed guns very easily and extend the legs if necessary without buying a whole additional bipod.
3) Easy to run rigid (if that's what you want?) or dial in cant and pan as needed with simple rotation of thumbwheel..
4) Neat solution to claws and spikes - no rotation issues that I had on early Harris compatible claws for example
5) Light but robust at the same time
6) Great engineering, makes some others look like they were designed and built in the Dark Ages.
7) Kasey has some of (if not the) best CS focus I've come across
8) and ...NO SPRINGS!
