Upgraded from a NXS 5.5-22x50 non-zero stop NP-R2 to a 5.5-22x56 high speed zero stop NP-R1 in a Larue SBR-S VFZ mount. Will be re-zeroing and giving a formal range report shooting 100-1000 yards after this weekend. I had a taste the weekend before last and put 7 shots on an 18" gong at 750yds in 10 secs...so far this thing is incredible. Anyways, here are a few pics taken with my cell phone, click for full size.

Looks great and looks like it is showing some promise. I'll be anxious to see your 100-1000yd range report when you get a chance to stretch the legs on your P-308!!

Re: My POF P308 with new glass.

I have really enjoyed mine, it is a 16". Do you have any issues with comb height using the one piece LaRue? I am using a Bobro one piece and am considering switching to lower conventional rings. The rail is a little high on the POF's and my cheek weld is a little awkward. The Bobro is a nice solid and repeatable QD mount but a little high for my short neck. A PRS would fix my eye alignment but I have rings already that I can use. I shot mine to 650 last weekend and ringing a 12" square was no problem....makes you want to shoot faster and faster.

I can't speak for the OP, but I have a PRS installed on my 20" P-308, along with a Larue LT-158 mount and I have my cheek riser raised approx. 1/2" to get a good cheek weld/sight picture. Unfortunately, if you are running a scope with a large bell (like me, or the OP), even going with standard rings isn't going to drop your height much. The problem is the monolithic receiver rail/handguard rail on the POF which is higher to accommodate the piston system/op rod. With the LT-158 mount, I still only have a matter of a few millimeters of clearance between the bell (with BC covers) and the rail.

Re: My POF P308 with new glass.

I am running a USO ST-10 so bell height is not an issue like you fellas running 50+ bells. I can shoot fine with the one piece but I would be more comfortable if i could lower the scope about 1/2 and inch. I will try my low rings and then consider a PRS if that doesn't do it. The PRS stocks I have shot are nice for comb height but they place my cheek weld too far distal of the scope so if rings will work that is what I'm going to use.

Re: My POF P308 with new glass.

The Larue mount is absolutely perfect for the gun. It placed the objective about 1.5-2mm above the rail so it is literally as low as it could possibly be. PRS is a great stock as well, the only complaint I have about it is that I wish it weighed about a half a pound less, that thing is a chunk!
