I'd like to contribute my customer service experience that I had with Paul and Chris of Premier Reticles.

I recently acquired my first Premier Reticles Heritage 3-15x50. It was a very early model that had went in for the typical refit of the turrets and parrallax, and subsequently never used. I was the first to actually put a round on the scope. I had my first opportunity to use it this weekend.

It is a high dollar scope and performed as anyone would expect it too, with the exception of the flip up on the ocular. It simply did not work correctly, and as everyone who has any experience with a PH knows, they are less than perfect. I should state that it did not fall off, but rather the spring in it had turned out the interior of the actual hinge on the cap and it would no longer "flip open." While I am not a design engineer, it would appear that the cap was made with either too little material as the result of a contruction flaw, or too soft of a material as the result of a design flaw.

It is going with me on a trip starting next week, and I PCC/PCI'd it before going, and while I've never HAD to replace any battery in any of my illuminated scopes, I decided to install a new one just to be safe. Well, in my ignorance, I did not know that the slot on the battery cover is actually perfectly machined to use the replacement battery to open it up. It is wide to accomodate the 2032 lithium battery. Well, the widest coin I could find was a nickel, which was too narrow, but I used it anyways. It was on tight, as it should be, but in the process of opening it up, I really butchered it. So much so, that I didn't know if I would be able to get it off again once I put it back on. I cannot say for sure that it was installed tight by PR or by a previous owner. In all actuality, the only person to blame for the customization is myself as I was using a "square peg in a round hole."

I contacted PR via their email address on their website and explained the situation. That was on Saturday, maybe Sunday. First thing Monday morning (today), Paul emailed me back, informing me that the new battery cover and flip up would be sent out TODAY so that I would have it by the time I leave next Monday.

Bottom line, they took care of me immediately, even when given a tight time frame to work with and a destroyed battery cap on account of operator error. I know people have voiced their problems with PR's CS in the past, and they have every right to. My experience, albeit minor, was above reproach. I don't expect this to change the minds of people that have had bad experiences in the past, but my thanks to Paul and Chris of PR who took care of a little guy who can't open a battery cover and for replacing a poorly working ocular flip up.

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

I did the same exact thing with my battery cover. I emailed them to see if I could buy one. They weren't having any of it. Premier sent me a new one, even though I made it clear that it was all my fault. Talked to Paul at SHOT show. Real nice guy, he even gave me a little tool for the levers. I don't have to use a case head anymore!

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

thank god i saw this lol. i did the same thing to mine and it didn't really bother me so i haven't messed with it. i still have to send mine in to get the upgrades but my clickers just aren't soft yet so i have been reluctant. i am glad the customer service is top notch

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

Another positive experience here. I broke an O-ring on my windage knob because I wasn't putting the knob back on right.

PR sent me a free handful of O-rings for each turret (different O-rings) so I'd have spares in case it happens again.

I'm happy.

I'd like to see it too. I was using my Safeway card.

Nothing too special. It might a 1/8th inch thick piece of plastic that is beveled on one end to help pry up the lever. I keep it on my keychain.

If anyone wants the measurements to make one, it's: 1x1.9 The head is about .5" square and bevels down to .04"

That was pretty much the original purpose. That way the levers wouldn't get marred up during QC before heading out to customers. It's funny how the most useful things can be created out of what's just laying around.

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

I had a very brief & pleasant experience with Premier CS as well. Spoke with Paul Lange about getting updated 'clickers' for my 3-15X a while back. He assured me that my happiness as a customer was paramount & man, he wasn't joking! Not one, but two sets of new clickers were in my mailbox two days later. Paul wanted me to have a spare set for my 5-25x, just in case...

Thanks again, sir!

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

The material is nylon, TM. We made these to hand out at SHOT. The large end where Bacarrat has his keys hooked to is thick enough to open the battery compartment. As stated above it is the same thickness as a 2032 battery, we then tapered it down and cut it to fit under the levers.
Just something to hand out at the show.
I would like to thank all that left very kind comments.
Regards,
Paul

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

Hey Paul,

Delrin...nylon...it's close enough lol but they are pretty cool looking and definitely practical. Up above I was talking about the little white lifters I made up way back when but the new black ones are much more "tactical" lol. Have a good one Paul.

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

No tools are needed, fellas.

I 'appropriated' a 4-6" piece of heavy string from my son. Works just like dental floss - slip it under the turret lever and lift up. Non-marking, fast and easy to replace if lost.

A small shoe lace would work just as well. Hell, if it's gotta be 'tactical' get a black one.

Oh, my PH 3-15x50 Gen2 MD works like a swiss watch. Thanks again, Scott.

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience

Well, Paul follows through with what he says he will do. The new battery cover and ocular flip up showed up today.

Can't beat that. Ordered a second Premier from CS Tactical.
