Well I am finally getting my rifle set up so I can start working on improving my long range game. I call it the lego build since there is not real gunsmithing going on with this build for the time being as I am using the factory 700 sps varmint barreled action with parts about anyone can put on. A little back ground on the rifle, it started life as a Dicks special sps var adl, I then converted it to bdl and through it in a cheap hogue sps tac stock, and upgraded optics to a Vortex Crossfire 2 6-18x44 with vortex rings and EGW 20 moa 1 piece base and tuned the factory xmark trigger. I am hoping to eventually reach out to 1k yards with this setup but with 600-800 yards being the usual longer distance shots. Let me know if there may be some things I have overlooked or may need to consider with my current/future setup.
Now getting the rifle up to it's current state:
Factory 26" 1:12 twist varmint barreled action
EGW tactical bolt knob
Timney trigger set to 1.5 lbs
Bell and Carlson M40 stock
EGW 20 moa 1 piece base
Waiting for arrival is SWFA 16x mil/mil optic and SWFA low rings.
Future plans are: Harris bipod, some form or bubble level/anti-cant device, and bedding job.
