Need a good starting point for savage 10fcp

Okay I have a savage model 10 .308 with choate stock. I have Remington brass, cci primers, H4895 powder. Now what I need is a good start for smk 175 or berger hybrid 155. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

work up to 42.1 grains with the 175's... and just over 45 grains with the 155's... you should see some promise in those areas with the H4895

I started out with my 10FP and McM A3 back in '05 and shot the usual bullets from 150gr SMKs up to 185 Scenars, through it.

I'd buy a few types, including the 168gr SMKs (as long as you're not shooting at 1k yards) and see what you see. It took my rifle a good 700 rounds to settle in and 3300+ rounds later, it's pretty nuts on with a wide range of weights.

In the beginning, you want to try out a large sample size, if you can.

Thanks for the info I am going to order 168 and 175 SMK's to start if any one has any others that will perform well at 600 yards I am open for suggestions.

If you can get some imr4064 that works very well!

I use 180gr SMK's out to 600.
Much easier to find in stock since most people snatch up the 175's.
