Yes I have a ruger precision rifle in a 6mm creedmoor. I am just starting out in precision target shooting. I mainly will be shooting at 100 and 200 yards ( that's as far as my gun range goes) but we have some land I hunt on that I occasionally goto I can do up to 600yards there. I have a budget around 1500.00 or less on scope what would you recommend are there anyone that has one of these rifles of what kind of mounts there using thanks.

I recommend looking at the PX for a used optic. if you get the right price you can always sell it later for a similar price. You should be able to find a used Vortex gen 1 razor, leupold MK 4 ER/T or Bushnell XRS for less than 1500.

I try to match to optic's capability to the rifle's capability. Even though you are initially only looking at 600 yards the rifle is capable well beyond that. You could go with something in the 10-15x max magnification get everything you need but going to 20-25x would open up shooting small a bit more. Your budget of $1500 is more than enough to get a good scope for you needs. Plenty of options, start looking at what you want in terms of features like FFP vs SFP and reticle types. I started with a Vortex PST on mine and recently upgraded to a PST II - 5-25x50 FFP Mrad. $1,100 for a full featured scope. A 3-15x50 is another option for you in this scope.

I went out of budget a little bit. I ended up with a vortex razor hd amg 6x24 ffp scope. I actually went with a leupold mark 4 but It had a tracking problem and I ended up with the amg and I am very satisfied with this scope. I got it zeroed in now I just need to work up a load that this rifle likes. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.

I just picked up a RPR in 6.5 Creedmoore also. I shot long range comp many years ago, military class, iron sights only. The RPR peaked my curiosity so I got one. This will be for fun to see how far I can stretch and will also be for some hunting.

Many were recommending the Vortex Viper line of scopes so I went t check them out. Nice scopes. Price was good, especially with the military discounts they offer, but the subtension marks could not be seen at low power on the 6-24x50 FFP models. I was discouraged. I was ready to drop the cash on the counter until I looked through it. The salesman asked me if I had ever looked at the Sig Sauer. He pulled out the Tango4 6-24x50. Priced at $999.99 it was a little more than the Vortex but within my budget. Bottom line is it's a really nice scope. Subtensions are very visible at all magnifications. Clear, bright glass. I got the mildot model. Turrets and reticle are in mil which I really like. No mental gymnastics converting mils on the reticle to minutes on the turrets. Has 15 mil of elevation (52MOA) adjustment. Not as much as the Vortex HS LR model but more than enough for long range in the creedmoore.

Just a recommendation if you are looking for a nice scope for a reasonable price.
