I currently shoot a Accuracy International AE with the Atlas V8 bipod and use a rice sock to shoot. I am curious to get some feed back on this product and see what folks who have used them feel about them.

reewik, try asking in the equipment forum.

I personally love the monopods and admit to my bias. But Accu-Shot monopods will do everything a beanbag will and more but won't get lost, leak or rot.

reewik - I have an ASAI on my AW. On occassion I will also use a rear bag or just my fist.

At first I found the ASAI a little strange/awkward as it acts as a pivot point for the rifle (unlike a supporting rest like a bag or your hand) so adjustment seemed a little coarse and unbalanced, especially combined with the slop in the AI/PH bipod.

Once I figured out a good hold (I hold the handle part with only three fingers and use the fleshy side of the hand to contact the ground) the ASAI gives good control and clenching the fist still gives adequate movement for fine control. I find it provides a more secure hold than just resting the butt on my hand.

I've used it out to 1000m and find it easy to maintain a consistent and repeatable position with this product - especially when paired with my Atlas V8 with V2 spigot (sorry if this sounds like a commercial for Kasey!).

As with all Kasey's products engineering and finish is excellent.

And you don't need to worry about CS - one of, if not the best out there!

Only problem I had (which was probably my fault) was that I mashed the rubber washer that came with the ASAI to protect the butt. - easily remedied with a chunk cut off an old leather strap. See pics:
