Need input bf I buy a millennium 2

Re: Need input bf I buy a millennium 2

I don't have the IR screens, there on the list but so far I hadn't needed them, I really like the ease of getting Average, ES and SD, simply push the button marked with the info you want and it's there, keep in mind it takes 5 rounds for it to give you the info. The one thing I don't like is the way the sensors mount to the bar, the thumb wheel is plastic and can be tighten very easily but sometimes I need pillars to remove them. I also like the CED storage bag for the M2, at a garage sale I found small tripod I use with it, the straps on the outside the bag keep it secure during transport and inside the bag are compartments for each sky screen sensor, bar, sky screens and display unit, I'm sure the IR stuff will fit in there too. I have not used the software at all.

Re: Need input bf I buy a millennium 2

I use the IR screens frequently..
They work brilliantly at night in complete darkness (extra care when setting up in the dark.. )
And daytime too.

My 100yrd testing strip is alongside tall trees, so I often get dappled sunlight above the chrono, which messes with sensors trying to detect the 'bullet shadow'
But the IR screens fix the problem.

The fps numbers always get me bang on target when I use the numbers in JBM for long range, so I trust the figures mine gives me.

The software is 'ok' if your into that kind of thing,
It auto puts the data on a spreadsheet for you, but I find it a little awkward to read, and end up adjusting the data columns to suit myself,
But I don't bother with that anymore, it's the kind of a novelty thing that wears off after a while.

My only complaint is you have to have the sensors etc mounted on a tripod or similar, which is fine for bench shooting,
But I like to shoot prone for everything, and the sensors/bar don't sit on the ground, so you'll have to improvise to sit it on something rigid on the ground.

Mine is not sensitive to sun light, I have not shot it against any other chronograph, but I completely trust it, Saturday I made a 2nd round hit with my 260 at 1780 yards, DA was 2300, Ballastic AE called out for 24.8 Mils, dialed 24.8 and held 2 Mils for wind, shot 10 more times but never made another hit, elevation was good, switching winds and subsonic 142smk dont mix well.

Re: Need input bf I buy a millennium 2

Ok here's what I got. Ordered the ced mellinium 2 w/ infared screens and already have a regular old tripod for a camcorder that I used w/ my old chrony. Also ordered the rechargeable battery pack and the storage bag. Have one quick question. Will the m2 tell me tko, bc, or any of those type things???

Re: Need input bf I buy a millennium 2

No Sir it will not tell you BC, BC is easy, lets say your shooting at 650 yards and hitting .3mil low, since you know exactly what your speed is, you can adjust the BC and rerun the numbers to true up the software until the ballistic program and real world numbers match.
