I am stuck between a rock and a hard place so to speak. Here is my situation. I have a Remington sps Tactical .308. I mainly deer hunt from trees (using the tree for a prop). I will be using the gun hunting making shots out to 300 yards in hunting situations. But I also want to be able to shoot out to 600 yards with close to moa accuracy at 600. I would like to have close to .5 moa accuracy at 100 yards. I know a lot of that will depend on the shooter and the gun but I want a scope that is capable of the accuracy listed above. Here is where the problem starts. Now I am using a trijicon accupoint 2.5-10x56. I absolutely love this scope for hunting in low light situations. Which is very important to me for the hunting that I do. BUT two problems exist with this scope. First problem is that since I use it propped on the side of the tree for a rest the scope is wider than my stock (manners t2) this is not good. A 50 mm scope would work for this situation. The second problem is I do not believe that it is enough mag to get the some what small groups I want at 600 yards. The other part of the problem is I want to keep the weight down as much as possible because it will mainly be used for hunting but I will also be shooting in some competitions at 600. I am looking for a scope that has no bigger than a 50mm objective. It needs to be very good in low light situations with illumination. It needs to be very clear as well.
Also I would like a reticle that allows precision on small targets at extended ranges. I would also like tactical turrets but they are not a must. I have a budget between $1,500 and $2,000. I may be wrong but I think a mag range of a 3-18 or so would so would suit me well but that is why I am asking the experts. Lol. I am wondering if I can find a one scope wonder for what I am wanting to do or if I should buy two different scopes with quick disconnects and if so what would be the recommendations on which two scopes and recommendations on the one scope wonder. Lol. I have done much research on this subject and am now more confused than I was before I started the research. Hence......... that is why I want to ask the EXPERTS.

Re: need some expert opinions on scope selection.

With a $1500 limit you can find a New OR Used Bushnell HDMR 3.5-21x

With a $2000 limit you can jump on the GAP Group Buy for the new Bushnell 4-30x or get a new Vortex or you can find a Used Nightforce, US Optics, or something similar.

I'm in the same boat and I'm tempted to go the US Optics or GAP Group buy route but I'll likely get another HDMR as I have one now and love it!
