I do not doubt those 6.5mm BCs are possible with pointing. I'm pointing 6.5mm and 7mm bullets and getting similar percentage increases.
Of course, you can point the 7mm 180gr Hybrid as well, and that takes her to close to 0.73, so its back out in front on BC wise. And at 1500+yds, it sure is nice to have a bit more mass on the bullet for splash/impact observation. Yes, the 6.5 SAUM is flatter given the MV differences, but windage goes the 7mm.
I have a 7 SAUM and sure like the cartridge. Very well designed all around, better than the 7 WSM despite a tad less boiler room. Maybe once I burn out my 7 SAUM, I will look into your 6.5 SAUM. My 7 SAUM is built on a short-action, and the much shorter 6.5mm bullets are certainly a nice advantage for short-actions.
