They "drill".
My testing shows .600 for the 130gr JLK's. They are very accurate and kill exactly like the 130gr Berger Hunting VLD's.

I believe I read somewhere in this thread that some fellas preferred the Remington brass as opposed to the Norma brass.. Why is that? Also, has anyone tried the 136 Scenars?? If so, how did they perform?
Thanks,
Bob
Seems most of the info, groups etc is rigs with the old reamer. What I want to hear and see is some groups, with folks with the "new" shorter F/B reamer. I think there has been one or two postings and they seem to have had issues but never returned and posted on their progress. I know George mentioned that they had built about 100 of them and no complaints but... I haven't seen any post about them, maybe I missed them?? I would figure they would be eager to post info and results.
I've got a shit load of 6.5 Norma SAUM prepped brass from CC. I wonder if I should also give the Remington brass a try.
Thanks for continuing to update this thread.
Sick........Shaking my head laughing!
I can see how your spotter made those calls. Thanks! Yes and yes to the question.
When I shot that plate, I had a friend along to spot. He was watching through my spotter and called the first shot center of plate. The second shot he called right edge of plate at 3 o'clock, and the third he called top edge at 12 o'clock. We both kind of shook our heads when we drove down to have a closer look.....grin!
you can't be that surprised..... Knowing who the trigger man is !
How's the brass issue coming?? Still pretty hard to find?? I had Arizona ammo quote me over 300$ A BOX!!!! Most expensive ammo I ever heard of!! But if you can't find brass it seams fair......
Copper Creek cartridge co has 6.5 SAUM 4s Remy and Norma brass. They also carry full loads with 130/140 Bergs
Crack kills man, lay off itYea, but they quoted me 300+ a box???? You got that laying around???
The new shorter reamer is not causing problems. The only problem would arise if you have ammo loaded for the old reamer specs and you jam it into the new reamers specs. You would need to run it back thru the die and compress just a touch to get off the lands.
I would say a majority of the barrels cut so far were with the original reamer. Might not be to many with the new one, yet.
Yea but 300$+ a box that's more than I can swallow. That's more than 15$ a pop..... You gotta be kidding... I don't care if it shot .25 moa at 1K in any wind.... Just too much skin. It makes the whole project kind of a joke??? Who can deal with that $$$ for ammo?? Yes it's bad ass, but unless something changes it dead as it stands... You gotta get the major ammo makers on board or just forget it... Only a few will play then it will be over.......
That's still more than .50 BMG ammo! Just saying enjoy while you can. Unless the big boys come on board.
Yea, but they quoted me 300+ a box???? You got that laying around???
You guys should see if you can get enough orders for a big group buy for brass. I'm sure there's someone on this forum with enough clout to broker the deal.

Hi I was hoping you guys could help me, I am in the process of building a 6.5 saum here in new Zealand with the no turn reamer. If I read this correctly I just need 7 saum redding type s dies with appropriate bushings and 6.5 vld seated? Can somebody tell me please what bushings I require to convert both 7mm and 300 saum brass with this reamer?
Got my 6.5 Saum all put together last night. Brass chambers but is pretty tight. Probably cause I started with 300 saum and used the standard redding type s bushing dies that doesn't quite get all the neck sized. Seems to work and I'm sure after the first firing I can get it all dialed in. I'm down to 1lb of H1000 and I would like to save it after this brass is fire formed, so I'm looking for a fire forming load. I have lots of H4350 and various other 1lb jugs of Hodgdon powders. I was wondering if you guys have any fire forming load suggestions? I have a ton of 140 amax. I was thinking I'd push the bullets into the lands by .005" to blow the case out. I don't have quickload or any other resources to work up a load for a wildcat like this so figured this would be a good place to start.
Thanks
Retumbo , Use the same amounts as H1000
George, is 59 grains of Retumbo okay to do some fire forming with using the Norma brass?
Thanks for that, will a standard type s die work? It is all I can find at the moment. Can't find the match ones.
