How far was that shot on that antelope? I mean his legs were going before the shot finished! That was great!
Wasnt far, I believe it was less than 300. I was on the phone and almost missed Francis take the shot. I saw it drop instantly and was like "holy shit" I literally think that Goat was dead before he hit the ground.

i just measured my chamber..tried to and with my hornady OAL tool it give me a 2.912 touching the land(i think..) with berger 140 hybrid
Where did you make your measurement? at the tip(because the tips is not even..)?

I use to use the Hornady method as we'll, but you need a special threaded case that does not fit to your chamber. I would always get different readings. I have since gone to this method using the Sinclair gauge, not the Frankford Arsenal. Works great. The distance from your bolt face to the lands we'll always be the true reading.

We can cut anyone a modified case using your fired brass so you will have a case for measuring that is exactly formed to your chamber.
We just need a couple pieces of brass fired in your gun. We will cut and thread them for the Hornady/Stoney point tool and you'll be all set. The service using your brass is $7 and includes the return shipping.
The trick to consistent readings using the Hornady tool is simple. Run your cleaning rod into the muzzle end of the rifle and as you work the tool and push the bullet into the lands, use the cleaning rod to put force back toward the bullet. You can actually feel where the bullet enters the rifling and lock down the Horandy tool to give you extremely accurate and consistent results using the tool.

Came across a screaming (and I mean screaming) good deal on a Remington Sendero 7SAUM new in box. Thinking of buying it and having a Bartlein 1:8.5 sendero contour barrel chambered in 6.5saum (already have one on the way to put on my lightweight rifle on a Predator action), having it cut for the Wyatt extended box, and maybe 1 piece PTG bolt. Was hoping to do a Hospitaller from GAP in the 6.5 but this deal has me thinking this project will suit my needs. Should be a pretty straight forward, am I missing anything?

I would not opt for a suppressor on the Xtreme Hunter. That is not what they were intended for. A thread protector would basically fall under the same issues as the suppressor. Not really enough shoulder for it to mate up to. I would suggest going with a heavier contour to also help support the added weight of the suppressor.

The one component I can't seem to find anywhere are either the Tula or Fed 215m magnum primers. Does anyone know how well Winchester or Remington LR magnum primers would work?

I'm building a 6.5saum based on my Tikka T3 Varmint 6.5x55 Swede , I have ordered a Vais brake and reamer. I will keep the original 8.7:1 twist barrel and have the bolt face opened. I would like to re-stock the rifle and was asking if anyone has used the MacMillan A-TH . This will be my go to rifle; so will be used in close and open country, so I am looking for a stock that will do both comfortably. Any suggestions would be welcome.

That's a great looking rifle. What does that beast weigh? How do you like the M2013? I'm considering the long version for my next build.
Waiting on build to come back from smith at the moment, specs are McMillan hunters edge, trued rem 700 wsm action, .298 reamer, matte black gunkote, true flight 1-8.5 twist magnum contour finished at 24.Wyatt's extended mag box with a Dan hardy suppressor and topped with a 3-18x44 vx6 with illuminated boone and crocket.
It's 18.5 lbs. as pictured. 16 lbs. without the Optic and bi-pod. The primary use case is shooting prone off the berms at the local 1000yd rifle club, so the weight is a non issue. With 50 rounds down the tube I can report it was accurate right away even with .004-.008" neck runout, fire forming loads. Barrel gets just warm. No heat stringing detected so far.
I'm liking the M2013 with its flat bottom design. Very stiff for magazine fed action. The barreled action mounts solid to the aluminum chassis. As a result, the rifle has a subtle harmonic ring with fast bolt manipulation. No chance of it squirming around like a 700 action in an aluminum V-block. It would be my go to action for any magnum based rifle where weight is not top priority. Check to make sure your preferred Remington 700 style stock or chassis can be inlet for the M2013.
For those who can't find H1000.
Looks like Midsouth and Natchez have 8 pounders of Ramshot Magnum in stock. Should be a good substitute.

Is the 140 AMAX still good at these speeds? I see a a lot of people shooting bergers but I've got a couple thousand amax on the shelf.

They are good but the BC is a little Weak. Sendero Man has used them quite a bit!

I re-purposed a Rem 700 McM A-TH for my build (I bought mine when it was still called an A-Hole, hehe) The only concern I would have if using it as a hunter/
walking rifle is if I was to fall while my hand was in the pistol grip - could end up with a dislocated or busted thumb due to how small the thumbhole is. Other

Would somebody kindly refresh my memory as to what magazines most are using, Accurate or Alpha? Thank you.
Don't have any yet, so this is second hand. I asked Ken at GAP and He said they are using the Accurate mags. I think it was KYS on here that prefers the Alpha due to the size, but I read a thread on the Hide recently where a lot of people are having a hard time getting the product from the company even after having paid. So for the time being I think the Accurate mags are the safe choice.
