who and where is a good place/source to start looking for a custom ar style rifle to be built in 6.5 grendel?

Been lurking for a long time. lots of great info here! glad to be here!

Re: New guy here! question about custom rifle builders

The three semi-auto guys I'd look into ordering from would be APA, GAP, and a smaller builder in NC called Templar Consulting. The guy specializes in 6.5grendels. Nonetheless, there's a bunch of options for an AR platform that are more economical than the Grendel. Any reason you're going for the Grendel, or you already have a 5.56 and 7.62 and just want something else?

Re: New guy here! question about custom rifle builders

I have Tactical Rifles in Florida building me a 6.5G SPG right now. Templar consulting is about 45 mins from where I live and if I would have found it before going with the Tac Rifles I would have probably bought from him. Seems to be pretty good bang for you buck. There is good word on him on the Grendel forum as well.

CMMG is not exactly custom...nor does CMMG offer 6.5 Grendel rifles/uppers to my knowledge. They do make 6.8SPC uppers/rifles.

Like Bamf said...Tactical Rifles is an excellent source for a 6.5G build. You should also have a look at JP Enterprises...I recently got to shoot one of their 6.5G rifles and was extremely impressed with it in terms of 100% function and sub-MOA accuracy.

Yeah JP makes great solid stuff. Thanks for the info. any one ever deal with Jense Precision?
