I read this on latest "Precision rifle shooter", but search on internet shows nothing, not even rumors.

Interesting to say the least, 8x erector design, high mag ranges, solid reticle choices (especially if the Mil-XT is offered) and all under $2500. I haven't been behind an NXS in a while. Did the glass ever get updated on them? Because the older ones i was never overly impressed with. A little surprised it wasn't another addition to the ATACR lineup but hell idk where or how you'd position them price wise comparable to the 4-16, 5-25, and 7-35.

Now that it's mentioned i'm almost certain they're SFP. NF hasn't dropped the F1 moniker for FFP once since i started shooting in 10 years. Probably tack on $300 or so to whatever is expected. Interesting though none the less, love the weight reduction. 28oz on that 2.5-20 and i can get it in Mil/Mil SFP for a hunting rig for dad's SAUM.

I’m squarely in the April Fool’s camp, though if they were FFP, that 2.5-20x50 would be an amazing gas gun optic!

If it's not i'm going to be shocked. Can't find anything on google. Hell i posted to NF's wall asking... That would be a low blow to april fools something like that lol, i mean the article even mentions ED glass like the ATACR. A 2.5-20x50, below 30oz, offered in Mil-C/Mil-XT, compact, with ED glass, and a 8x erector system all for $1950 MSRP? Sounds wayyyyyy too good to be true and especially from them. No offense intended NF just doesn't budge much on their pricing.

All good reasons why I think it’s bunk. But I’d DEFINITELY be getting my first NF if it were real (and FFP)!

Oh no doubt, NF would own the market if it's true. I'd be looking at getting two and have already sent it to my cousin who's looking to move to good glass on a less than $2000 budget after using a k624i this past weekend.

I'm on the "it's true" side, because Frank dropped a hint at the very end of a podcast in January. I believe it was the podcast after shot show, that NF maybe releasing something new -- maybe around NRA show time. I'm optimistic this is it. I've been keeping my eye peeled for whatever might be coming. PLEASE be FFP!!

I recall that, now that you mention it. This could get interesting...

I saw the same article in person at my local Barnes and Nobel on Saturday. I highly doubt they would spend that much time, $, and effort on (what would be) a humorless April Fools joke.

I do find it odd that there is no mention of it anywhere else. I totally thought this would be the first place I would hear about it. And the non-mentioning of focal plane is curious as well.

Weird, I tried searching for a recent G&A article on it and nothing came up.

Looks like I'll need to rethink the direction I'm going with my current SPR build! If MSRP is $1950, I wonder where street will land. The Burris XTRIII I've been thinking of long-term for my rifle may have just been trumped!

I read that article last week and then looked on NF website and nothing was shown. Talked to a local dealer and he looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned it. He showed me the 1-8x he had and I said I was pretty sure it was a 2.5-20. He then gave me another crazy look. Looks like a promising scope though.

If it is as good as it could be... this could be an amazing hunting scope. Light weight, good glass, simple.

I just want it to come out before hunting season as my 300 needs a new scope

I’ll be looking to this for my 224 valkryie build for sure if impressions are positive. And a SFP for dads 6.5 SAUM would be perfect

Well, the marketing guys have done their jobs-Guns and Ammo gets a rare these days scoop on something new, and will sell some magzines. And Nightforce has scared up a shitstorm of interest in what could be a game changer optic, especially if FFP and proper glass. Now the real deal would be if these were in current production and ready to hit the street inside of 2019. Count me in.

Basically, my thoughts are that this is dang near the optic we’ve been pressing Vortex for (3-18x50 AMG). I’d prefer something under 24oz, but if everything about them in the article is true (FFP, illuminated, under 28oz, 12” long, 2.5-20x, Mil-C), this may be as close as we get for the time being. The Burris XTRIII just got a serious competitor!

My next question is, does it or does it not have a sun shade...

These look great.

However, the 2-20 is too short on the front end - forward of turret housing. With a pic-rail, you won't be able to mount it low and back far enough for proper eye relief. You'll either have to increase ring height to get the bell transition to clear or mount it forward which will not be ideal for eye relief. Rings like Talleys or Hawkins hybrid without pic rail won't be an issue.

Very excited to see these in the wild.

Doesn't matter on most accurate semi autos

And for clip ons you need 1.5 or 1.375" rings anyway

Waiting for the announcement and retail prices. Might be preordering the 2.5-20x50 i think once they hit shelves NF is going to have a hard time keeping up with production. There is no way at these prices and their reputation these don't fly off the shelves.

Or on AIs, at least for me (I use 1.4” rings or so to be comfortable on the rifle).

And even with “just” Mil-C, I’ll be happy. These really do look amazing. By the time I can swing another optic of this nature, I’ll have a few others to sort through, but this one’s looking the best so far!

MSRP = MAP in 2019...there is no separation like there used to be.

We expect to have these in hand in June (y)
