Just put a 6” kkm barrel in my Glock 20. Everything else is stock inside the gun. The guide rod seems to have a problem staying engaged. I had one failure right when I installed it, but I figured that I just did not get it set the first time. I reinstalled and racked the slide 30-40 times without issue. First range trip I was getting a few failures. The gun was not going into full battery. Also had several light primer strikes. I’ve had a few light hits before, but that was from not seating primes deep enough in new star line brass. Man the primer pockets are tight on that brass, but I have since fixed that problem. Once I got home, the slide locked up due to the guide rod falling all the way off the the seating indent. Any advice? Just to be clear, it’s the stock rod and I’m shooting hand loads that are over a grain under book max with AA#9.

What Gen is your 20? Gen 4? I have used the NDZ guide rod and +recoil spring in a G40, with good results.
Gen 3. I live in the wonderful state of CA, so I don’t have access to modern, safer handguns. No one has made one that stamps the case in two different locations on the brass during firing yet. God I hate stupid people.

Keep on hatin', they are everywhere! There is some differences in the guide rods between Gen3-4, but I don't know if there is a difference in the barrels, where the guide rod seats.

I installed a DPM guide rod today and hand cycling worked ok, but when I broke it down, the rod slipped off the barrel every time. Email sent to kkm.
