Have you ever seen a puppy that wasnt adoreable? Seems to come with the territory.
Pardon my ignorance but is the American bulldog the same as the Pit bulldog. they look similar, but the momma in the photo seems to gave more snout than pits.
Cute little mutts, regardless. </div></div>
As a AB owner I will try and answer the question. The "pit"bulldog (read pitbull) was NOT derived from the American Buldog in any way. The American Bulldog has several breed lines in them but the two most common is the Johnson and the Scott. Most confusion comes from the Scott bloodline as they have the small pitty looking head and thus most people can"t tell the difference from an American Bulldog "Scott" bloodline and a pitbull. So they believe that they are one in the same. A pitbull is a APBT American Pit Bull Terrier. These are two totally different breeds. It would be like saying a Yellow Labrador and a Rodesian Ridgeback was the same or a Rotweiler and a Doberman were the same breed because of their coloring. The American Bulldog was derived from a couple different breeds, catahoula, mastiff and others I cant think of right now but the Pitbull was not in the bloodline. They were made from these different breeds by farmers and cattle owners to be catch dogs(hogs and cattle) but to also be a family safe animal. I will try and remember the breeds that were used to create the American Bulldog and post it later. Also the Pitbull was not created using the American Bulldog in ther lines. Now there are breeders out there that do cross them in to each other to create a larger Pit but it is not recognized as a pure breed. Also the American Bulldog is (or was) not recognized by AKC because they are(to them) not a "pure breed" as they were derived from several breeds . Sorry for the ramblings about the difference but to sum it up....two totally different breeds. Hope this clarifies the situation a bit for you and others that may associate the two as the same.
