Im sure this has been covered here somewhere already, but Sen. Lautenberg is proposing a new law requiring background checks on the sale of all "explosive powders" in any quantity. This includes our beloved smokeless powder. This of course is being done in the wake of the bombings in Boston. So just when you think that powder sales might start caching up, another douche hat steps up to the mic. Who in the world elects these idiots!

ObamaSulk.jpgMaybe it's part of the big picture.

Being it was somewhat an isolated incident, pray, we might be able to weather this storm. Many other type explosive shit would have accomplished the same outcome. A guy can still buy prill and diesel, and if anyone thinks we're coasting becuase of votes this week they're dillusional. It's going to be an uphill fight for the rest of our lives!

"Always vigilant" is something to live by. However, this does not worry me much right now. Nobody will stick their neck out for another failed gun bill - not for a little while at least. The political risk is just too great. Lautenberg doesn't care because he's got one foot out the door anyhow, but you can bet many of the other Democrats do. The political math hasn't changed.

What has me pissed, though, is that we'll NEVER be able to buy any damn powder now. Thanks. Jerk. You just extended the shortage for another 6 months. At least I have my backorder in to Brownells...
