I'm planning my next build and I have most of the details picked out just need some input

I want to build a 6br or 6.5x47 for PRS matches I'm not interested in fireforming I just want to load Lapua brass and go

Action I'm undecided between a Defiance Elite, Impact, or Lone Peak Fuzion

I have a 6.5x47 built on a Surgeon now. I want something that's timed properly, smooth, and cycles well

Barrel will be either a 26" Heavy Palma Bartlein or Hawk Hill whatever I can get my hands on

Stock will be a Manners T4A Elite or PRS1. I love everything about my T4A Elite so I would be happy with another one but I'm curious about a Manners PRS1

Trigger will be a Bix n Andy Tacsport Pro

Scope will probably be a Schmidt and Bender PMII 5-25 H2CMR

Brake will be an Area 419 Sidewinder

I'm just looking for something different

I will probably end up with a 6br so I have both calibers

I'm not going to argue with wanting a new rifle because new shit is cool.

I think if the goal was to get better at or compete in PRS your money would be better spent on everything but the rifle.

I shoot a Surgeon in PRS and did pretty well with it this weekend, and I have friends with every other action under the sun. The Surgeon is probably near the top of the list just because it has a proven track record in dust and dirt.

There is some newer stuff that markets itself as better, more modern, or refined, but that's all it is...marketing. The Surgeon is boring and has been around forever. 2 Lugs are boring. Normal barrels are boring. Cerakote is old and busted. Nitride is where it's at..etc.

For all of the hype, the failure points in rifles isn't the bolt lift, or cocking cams...it's still all about triggers, dirt tolerance, bottom metal, and magazines.

I will say the Impact is like a nicer Surgeon. It seems like everyone that was winning with Surgeons last year is winning with Impacts this year. Defiance has always been a decent choice but I wouldn't rank it better than a Surgeon. No idea about Lone Peak...I know the guy that uses CLR on his bore was really hyped about them being better than everything else.

I know Borden has a good following in the NRA world, and I don't see why they couldn't drill a straight hole in a steel tube, nitride it, and call it a PRS action.

I just want something new to add

I do enjoy PRS style matches but I just shoot them for fun and there are no big matches here

Borden is working on a PRS action now. Jim said it will be later this year though
