If you watch his video I think they also upgraded the regular DT turret feel.haha hivemind
hmm. I may have to make a regrettable purchase decision in the futureIf you watch his video I think they also upgraded the regular DT turret feel.
No H2CMR but they do have MSR2hmm. I may have to make a regrettable purchase decision in the future
MSR2 in my eyes is basically the same thing but Finnish. No H2CMR but they do have MSR2
Maybe redemption for my fake news post? Let’s wait to hear from a verifiable source but this is encouragingIn regards to the PMII 5-25, this is from a direct owner of the optic and not speculation.
MSR2 is worlds better than HATE2CMRMSR2 in my eyes is basically the same thing but Finnish.
I like the GR2ID reticle too.
hopefully they hit US customer hands soon and people can confirm. The guy i posted has it on his TRG-22A1/M10/whatever in Australia.Maybe redemption for my fake news post? Let’s wait to hear from a verifiable source but this is encouraging
I won’t hold that against youI like H2CMR
Glass impressions so far?1sr one arrived at work today.....2nd one arrives tomorrow..
Turrets feel great , very defined, firm , precise clicks..That’s the scope I ordered. Are you impressed? Turrets feel good?
Agree.....instead of .5cm .35cm would of been nice!!Man the P5FL was ALMOST perfect. If they shrunk that center dot down.
yeah the through images look really nice. I'm one of the guys who prefers neutral tints. What i see with my eyes is exactly what im seeing through the PMIIAgree.....instead of .5cm .35cm would of been nice!!
Oh well....still really liking it though..
Yes, the 6-36 is VERY neutral/natural.... some may find it "Bland" or dull compared to say a Ziess or Lieca which have very warm , contrasty images.
Me... i like it..
Sharpness is better than i anticipated...many said it would be just the same as the previous PMII,s at this point i perceive it to be better......it is certainly MUCH MUCH better than the 3-27 High Power which i think is one of S&B,s worst scopes optically!!...
Tangential? I suspect Tangents will be in hand stateside before these, despite being announced at SHOT a year later.Sounds Tangentyyyy
I actually like larger center dots to help my brain reference exact center real quick, center dot is only used for load dev (LD) anyway, after that I'm holding wind so rarely use the center dot at distance. If you dial wind then it may pose more of an issue. When I had my Gen3 XR and MPCT2 I found that with LD I was actually more "steady" with the larger Gen3 XR dot than I was with the tiny MPCT2 dot because I found the ZCO dot would get lost quite a bit even on a 100 yard target with black POA dot, I actually switched my LD targets out from black dots to red dots in hopes of being able to see that tiny center dot of the MPCT reticle but it would still get lost (aging eyes suck!!!). Tried illumination and it helped but not as much as the Gen3 XR for me. Funny, almost a decade ago I had the Kahles SKMR reticle when it first came out and loved that tiny dot back when my eyes were better, but now... not so much.Man the P5FL was ALMOST perfect. If they shrunk that center dot down.
My eyes prefer neutral to warm, but anything with blue drives me nuts. For me, Schmidt has always been pretty neutral and along with the resolution and contrast provided that "pop" that had it stand out from most others.Yes, the 6-36 is VERY neutral/natural.... some may find it "Bland" or dull compared to say a Ziess or Lieca which have very warm , contrasty images.
Encouraging to say the least.Me... i like it..
Also very encouragingSharpness is better than i anticipated...many said it would be just the same as the previous PMII,s at this point i perceive it to be better......
I'm actually glad you mentioned this, I bought the 3-27 HP last year and reviewed it with a bunch of Alpha glass (TT, ZCO, etc.) and found the very same, it was the worst experience I'd ever had from behind a Schmidt. If it was the only scope I could own I'd be very happy, but trying to do "too much" with a scope sometimes introduces compromises in the optical performance and the 3-27 suffers big time from that, but if I needed a scope that could be used in front of a thermal and also be useful for high mags, it is a compelling offering; however, I found that with my March 4.5-28x52, even though it is 4.5x at the bottom, the FOV is so wide that I didn't feal hindered by it when using with a thermal and I would choose the 4.5-28 over the 3-27 for a number of reasons.it is certainly MUCH MUCH better than the 3-27 High Power which i think is one of S&B,s worst scopes optically!!...
I think the Gen 3 XR Fine dot size is a good compromise between ultra-small and huge.I actually like larger center dots to help my brain reference exact center real quick, center dot is only used for load dev (LD) anyway, after that I'm holding wind so rarely use the center dot at distance. Does the LRR-Mil have dots?I think the Gen 3 XR Fine dot size is a good compromise between ultra-small and huge.
The LRR-Mil was a no-go for me because the dot size cannot be seen at all
.5? That’s coarse.Turrets feel great , very defined, firm , precise clicks..
Build quality looks fantastic!!
I will say i do prefer the "Old" larger diameter Focus/Parallax dial. The NEW is smaller with machined raised sections, very firm , but still nice and smooth......
Glass.....first very quick impressions are very good.......nice neutral colour , VERY clear right to the edges ( not like the dreadful 3-27 HP i have!! ) .
Clarity/Resolution looks great..... So fay VERY impressed with the transition from around 30x all the way to max 36x ...a couple of "other" higher power scopes i have/had ( 8-40, 7-35) tend to get a little "murky" and soft in these ranges.....the S&B is still very good!!
Not for everyone...but i LOVE the MT .5cm Turrets!! 39.5 Mil travel.
My 2nd sample arrives tomorrow ( same specs as this one) , so will be interesting to see if they are optically "the same" ( hope so!!!)
P5FL Reticle..... love it....simple , purposeful.. I have been all over the place with reticles over the past months....Its actually good to come back to a simple but functional reticle..
Next step ...mount them on the Desert Tech SRS and HTI and into it!!!
Did you take a coarse in school or…?That’s course.
Yep...I do believe the good man means 0.05mil for every click, as of course most mrad scopes are a click every 0.1mil.
It seems the real benefit on half-click turrets is maybe getting a better zero.
Anyone care to comment re: normal field use ... is there real world benefit ?
My prob with it isn’t the 0.05mil clicks, it’s the way it’s denoted on the turret. I would totally and continually get confused due to the lack of the decimal missing.
Exactly. Instead of just saying, .05Mil per click, they say .5cm@100M per click, but leave out the 100m part, which is stupid and keeps people thinking in linear values when making angular adjustments. My prob with it isn’t the 0.05mil clicks, it’s the way it’s denoted on the turret. I would totally and continually get confused due to the lack of the decimal missing.
I would consider .05 cm/mil as very fine.05mil is not so coarse.
