@Zuzudaddy mine really liked the hornady precision hunter for box ammo and the 140eldm over h4350 for banging steel

Since no one that I am aware of currently makes an aftermarket bag rider for this rifle. I decided to model up a prototype in solidworks and 3D print one. It bolted right up using the stock screws and worked flawless. Clearance for the screw heads was a bit tight with my printer but not bad. Might make a few small tweaks in the near future, but its made form standard PLA and is very light if thats a concern. Very sold with full infill in the print. If anyone would like the .STL file to print on their own I would be happy to send.
Arca is nicer on our delicate hands and rides better on bags/fence posts etc
Should any/most ar10 barrel fit with this action? If that's the case I would start to think of getting one in carbon fiber! ThanksScrounging around the shop I found an AR10 Bartlein 6.5 barrel left over from a project. Turned the breech down, shortened it up a bit. Finish length ended up 18 1/2". The AR barrel weighed a good bit less than the 3 lb. 18" factory barrel.

I think Dave is talking about some machine work to turn the barrel. I doubt you could buy any AR10 barrel and just slap it in a Cross and go shoot.that’s very interesting, wonder how true it could be.
Ok, then I just misunderstood that post. That almost pushed me over the fence to buy the rifle.I think Dave is talking about some machine work to turn the barrel. I doubt you could buy any AR10 barrel and just slap it in a Cross and go shoot.
That said there are companies other than Sig who are making barrels specifically for the Cross, that would be drop in.Ok, then I just misunderstood that post. That almost pushed me over the fence to buy the rifle.
As in other people besides Dave tooley? That said there are companies other than Sig who are making barrels specifically for the Cross, that would be drop in.

You prefer StaBall over other options?@Zuzudaddy I'd like the bag rider .stl if you don't mind, I find myself shooting this rifle the most of any of mine lately.
My hunting scope was suffering some mirage issues in the heat so I finally decided to move the Razor AMG over to my Cross for a while. I'm still happy with the rifle, I can't find any more Gold Dots, but did check some 129gr Interlock and 130gr TGK hunting loads at 200, here are the three that passed muster:

I need some more StaBall to hit the market because I'm down to a pound and a half, and more bullet options seem to slowly be showing up in stock.
You prefer StaBall over other options?
PV has some right now
I think carbon barrel link is broken.
These will come with a 1" or less guarantee. But should easily shoot 1/2" in the right hands.
Dropped from 6.8 to 6.6 pounds
6.5 & 6 creed, 243, 308, 22-250, 7mm-08 are on the hit list right now.. down the road, maybe some crazier stuff like a 7 SAUM or 338fed..
Price is a bit up in the air right now but looks like it would be $650-$750 somewhere
and...
What caliber, lenght, contour, etc would you be most interested in?

What wrench are you guys using to remove the barrel? I was told an AR15 wrench but mine doesnt fit.
I'm a little confused by this post. Do you mean 20 MOA offset and not 20 mm? Also, why would the gun shoot 8inches high at 100 if you zero at 100?Sharing so no one else has this problem with their cross. I picked up a Sig Sierra6BDX 5-30 x56 scope nd was advised by Sig to use the Alpha 2 ring mount with a 20mm offset. I had it gunsmith mount it because i wanted it to be perfect but he mentioned that the gun will shoot 8 inches high at 100 yards with the vertical adjustment maxed out. This doesn't work because it would shoot out o like 300 yards before the radicle would pair up with the shot placement. The BDX should be zeroed at 100 or 200 yards IMO because this is going to be my hunting rifle. and need that close up option for hunting. Long story short... Sig is sending me the correct mount with no offset but this will cost me the gunsmith fee again. All good... live and learn but didn't want any of you to go through the same. ohh and for yall that think i am over scoped, I am... but i want to eventually use this rifle for with the 277 sig fury and also wanted to have the option to zoom way in for identification or glassing purposes.View attachment 7680294
Cross 6.5, APA little bastard muzzle break, Tier-one Tactical Carbon Bipod from the UK
good catch.. Yes 20 MOA. i fixed it to reflect the edit. I could not get the radicle up high enough to match the bullet hole at 100. the scope was maxed out with no additional adjustment. Other words, it wont work for a 100 or a 200 yard zero.I'm a little confused by this post. Do you mean 20 MOA offset and not 20 mm? Does the sig cross's rail have 20 MOA built into it already? Something ain't right if you can't even zero at 200 yds without maxxing the adjustment.good catch.. not sure if the rifle comes with the offset already. I agree. this scope should have enough adjustment to account for 20MOA but it didn't and the gunsmith confirmed it when he barrel sighted it.Does the sig cross's rail have 20 MOA built into it already? just spoke to the gunsmith. He confirmed that the Cross already has a 20 MOA pic rail from the factory. It all makes sense now. FMLDoes the sig cross's rail have 20 MOA built into it already? Something ain't right if you can't even zero at 200 yds without maxxing the adjustment.
Interesting, because the cross is suppose to come with a 0 MOA rail. If you go to their web site, a 20 MOA rail isn’t listed as an available option yet.just spoke to the gunsmith. He confirmed that the Cross already has a 20 MOA pic rail from the factory. It all makes sense now. FML
I couldn't tell by looking at the rail it was canted or not, But...Mine came with a 20 moa rail
I find it odd that Sig doesn’t mention a 20 MOA rail in their specs. I went to their web site yesterday and under Q&A. Someone recently asked if a 20 MOA rail was available and CS replied not yet.I just pulled my rail and it is 100% a 20 MOA.
That explains my inability to zero when I put a 20 moa mount on it.
Also learned from this group, not all ar wrenches are even remotely the same. My Wheeler wrench is to shallow for the bolt nut on the sig. New one will be here Monday so I can re-torque mine in hopes of better groups.
I find it odd as well. Sig is new to me but I keep hearing about how we are now their test subjects. I tried to into account the make of the receiver and the thickness of the rail at several locations when I measured it. I alo had my rifle completely level. When I put it all back together and put a bubble on the rail, it was not straight/level, but did imdeed take a dive to the front. At least I have a nice 20 MOA rail in reserve now...I find it odd that Sig doesn’t mention a 20 MOA rail in their specs. I went to their web site yesterday and under Q&A. I didn’t notice the cross rail being different when I zeroed my scope. But I am pretty sure I read awhile back that it was suppose to come with a 0 MOA rail and assumed wrongly that it did.
So the 20 MOA rail is good news, I have a Vortex HD LHT 3-15x42 on it. It has 17.2 mils of elevation with a 100 yard zero. So that should be enough for about 1400 yards. I didn’t add the zero stop, because it limits you to 11 mils of elevation.

Bag rider looks cool, good thing you don’t have spiked feet on your bipod. When it came up in this thread I asked Sig on the Cross product page and they've yet to respond or post my question.
Got Zuzudaddy's bag rider design and milled one out of delrin:

Glad it worked out for you, nice job!
I’ll try mdt mag tomorrowHas anyone tried an accurate, mdt or arc magazine in the cross? More coal room would always be appreciated.
AICS works but it doesn’t kick the nose up great like the factory follower does. It will feed ok.Has anyone tried an accurate, mdt or arc magazine in the cross? More coal room would always be appreciated.
