Re: New SSDS?

I have this feeling that if it turns out to be false and the USMC doesn't pick up the PH, Premier Reticles will be facing some bad times financially.

Re: New SSDS?

Initialy they were partnered with SB. Former SB employees helped with the Heritage design.

From the start the Heritage was intended to meet the contract requirement PR was already obligated to.

For those who are curious there were some informative posts about this matter about this time last year no need for invesigative reporting.

Re: New SSDS?

Word is the first order is for 2000 3-15 gen 2 PREMIER HERITAGE scopes. I really dont see why this is even a surprise for anybody. The PH is one bad ass optic period.

,kinda. (S&B most likely wont be replaced, but most likely phased out over a period of time)

Re: New SSDS?

Anchor,

With regards to the article you linked above. Do you think PR's recent contract announcement refers to the current contract which the article states ends in Aug. 2010? Or, Has PR been awarded a new contract which will come into effect in Sept. 2010?

Re: New SSDS?

It's the original SSDS contract. PR proposed an engineering change that would substitute the Heritage 3-15x for the S&B 3-12x, and it was signed off by the USMC this week. There was nothing wrong with the S&B scope (I have three of them), but there were some quality control problems that occurred because (1) S&B was stretching its production capacity, and (2) there were two companies involved in the the project. With PR as the sole contractor/supplier/designer/builder, those problems will go away. The new scope has a single-turn, 22-mil, MTC elevation turret.
