There should be some pics posted quite soon. I gave a factory tour to a couple of Hide members today and they were snapping away pics left and right. I'm sure you will see plenty of pics when they get a chance to post them.
Martin,
Thanks for the tour today! It was a very educational experience, and we're both thankful for the time you spent with us this afternoon.
For those of you who don't live close enough to drop by Steiner's facility here in Colorado, I'll give you my perspective:
1) A lot of thought went into this scope, and it really appears to be a great optic. I think it will be very well received when it comes to market in the near future. The T5Xi does a lot of things very well in my opinion: the turrets, reticle, and overall design features are all well thought out, and built into a sleek and functional package. It's also poised to enter the market at a very attractive price for this level of scope. To say the least, it is a heck of a lot less expensive than the S&B I'm currently running, and is built locally (here in the USA) using the German glass we've all come to love.
2) Martin and the rest of his team were great people to learn from. They're a real class act, and I'd feel very confident in buying any product that they put together. We pretty much got to see every aspect of the manufacturing and assembly process of these scopes, and it's impressive to see how much work goes into producing the final product.
3) For those who seem to think that this scope isn't made here in Colorado, I can assure you that you have somehow been misinformed on this subject. While the glass is brought in from Europe, the scope is very much a locally produced product.
Unfortunately my bizarre work/play schedule has kept me without any sleep for nearly two days now, so I won't be posting pictures tonight. However, I will add some pictures to this thread tomorrow, as Martin mentioned in his post.
