So our new folder does not have a hard lock to hold in the open position, however, it does have an adjustable spring-loaded detent that helps hold it open. It can be adjusted quite firm so unless you are running a super heavy option (Mercury and weights, it does a pretty doo job at it.

Oh I see what you mean. I read it on your FAQ too but the wording around "open position" confused me the first time reading it.

Yes, the forend is MLOK and the butt stock has MLOk slots so you can use either swivel studs or QD sockets.

I’m seriously considering selling my AG Composites stock when it arrives to get one of these (magnesium/carbon, natch), which would give me 6.5CM for now. If I ever draw a large animal tag, I’d also figure out 300WSM/300SS/338SS/338RCM on this chassis as well.

No sir. The complete magnesium chassis with butt stock and grip is 28 ounces. The chassis itself is only 16 ounces compared to the MDT's 24.23 ounces. The aluminum version is 22 ounces although I will say the Element 3.0 has a longer hand guard as well.

A Remington 700 SA with a 16" barrel would have a total folded length of 25.5". Basically, from the back of the receiver to the end of the folder (folded) is 2.375". The OAL of the chassis to the end of the folder folded is 21".

So the web site is a bit confusing in this area and for that, I apologize. we will be working to clear that up. We do not offer the magnesium chassis with an anodized finish so the only option is cerakote. The cost of the cerakote for the main chassis block is worked into the price. If you order the chassis with the Carbon buttstock, the buttstock will always come with raw carbon clear cote finish with the color of your choice on the chassis block. If you choose the TR2 buttstock, there is a $75 color upcharge for the buttstock if you want the buttstock color to match the chassis block. Hope that helps.

Yes, the harness of AZ61A is not quite that of 6061-T6. That said, it is not much different and I would doubt you would see much real-world difference. There are many factors that contribute to the overall strength of an alloy. The ultimate strength of both is very similar.

Thanks I have no doubt about the strength of the chassis. Just wondering about surface dings and scratches. Then again there's also the Cerakote protecting the surface. I'm sure it will be an awesome product.

Thanks I might have to reconsider my plan for a folder or go with a longer barrel. Being in the worst possible gun rights state California I believe they measure oal in the folding position.

Definitely was a thought for us. However, due to the fact that the majority of shooters/hunters still do not use/want it, we left it as a bolt-on option. The chassis will have a full-length RRS rail option as well as shorter light-weight options. We were also looking for the ultimate weight savings and the integrated rail added just a bit. The Envy will of course still have the integrated full-length RRS rail.

I do like the idea of a carbon RRS rail......

The full length RRS option - where is the option ? Thanks. This will 100% be my chassis for the Proof 28 Nosler in December.
