Suppressors Newbie question (transfer)

I am trying to buy my first suppressor. I made a trust for this.

The dealer at the local gun shop is telling me I have to get photos, prints, and LEO signatures. Is this true, I was under the impression from some basic research before I started the process that with a trust I could skip all this stuff?

Did I miss something or is the dealer wrong? I am not sure if it makes a difference but I am in Nevada.

Thanks.

Re: Newbie question (transfer)

With a trust you do not need to get your LEO involved. All you need is to send in a copy of your trust to BATFE -- I went the further step to name the suppressor with serial number in the trust.

Some dealers simply don't know.

Re: Newbie question (transfer)

Photos, prints and LEO signatures is just one of 2 ways to acquire a suppressor. A trust is the other. As mentioned, find a dealer that knows a little more about the way things work. Find a reputable class III/Title II dealer.

Local gun shops rarely know rules and regulations regarding NFA items.
