Rifle Scopes NF 2.5-10 owners - Do you wish you had parallax..

For those of you with the NF 2.5-10, do you wish you had a parallax adjustment? Do you find any issues with precision target shooting at 100 to 200 yards? I know shooting steel out to 1000 likely isn't a problem, but I guess I just wanted to your take from the people who actually own them.

I know other scopes in this magnification range often sport a side parallax knob. Personally, I like the idea of no adjustment, as it eliminates one more thing to worry about, so long as it wont cause issues.

I just received mine and used it the first time yesterday. I did not notice the paralax as much at 100 yd as I did at 50.
I do like the adjustment for target shooting and have a 5.5x22 for that. The 2.5x10 will be used for hunting mainly so I don't mind not having it.

I love my 2.5-10 but yes, I do miss the parallax adjustment.

NF saying "there are no parallax issues" just because they don't have an adjustment, is like telling soldiers that their weapon is self cleaning just because there aren't enough cleaning supplies to go around.

I've never found it to be a huge issue, but why not have the ability to remove as much error as possible? If they won't offer one with adjustment, that is fine, but don't BS us.

Like I said, I still love that scope, and the 1-4 is proving to be pretty handy as well.

Not really I like the fact that it's simple. It's compactness out weights parallax not being built into to it. Only wish it was FFP. It was simple to set up and that was a pleasure too. It sits on top of and M1A in a USGI fiberglass stock. I was going for compact. It worked well out to 600 yds on paper and steel. Mind you the rifle was not built for precision. The rifle and I held our own though and I am very happy with the scope

I really like not having parallax adjustment on this scope. This is a no nonsense optic that enables the user to quickly engage targets without messing with anything. I agree with Valken about FFP being something they should work toward in the future. I have mine mounted on a hunting rifle and before that, I had it on a M21. Seemed perfect on both rifles.

I don't miss the parallax adjustment at all on mine.
It's on a hunting gun and I don't need precision. I did manage to shoot a couple of groups in the .2's and .3's at 110 yards last week working up a load for a new rifle. That's pretty precise for me.

Not having the parallax really hasn't bothered me at all. I have gone from 50 yards to 600 yards without any problems. Also, I have the the LV ballistic reticle and it has worked all the way out to 600 yards using the reticle holds, even for wind. By the way, it's mounted on a POF 308 16.5" bbl and shooting HSM M118lr.

Nope, doesn't bother me.

If it were a larger scope I'd want it. However I am willing to give a good bit up to have such a nice small compact package.

Same here with me Jamie!!!! except I have mine on a 15" AR-15 223.

I like the scope just the way it is

I calibrated/tuned the sight in distance and velocity to match the hash marks on the reticle perfectly.I hardly ever dial the scope.

There is no need for it for my application (less is more, IMO). I shoot from close to 700 meters with it on an SPR with no issues.

No. I bought it because it didn't. I use mine mostly on a custom 223 "truck" gun. I use it to shoot coyotes and other vermin and don't have time to adj. parallex. Now on my 5.5x22, now thats another story

I'm not a huge NF fan, (they do make good scopes, just not my cup of tea) but I'll tell you...they got that scope right. I've got one on my JP CTR-02 which I use for 3 gun and it is a fantastic scope for that application. Especially when paired with some Dueck iron sights.

The only time I've missed the paralax is when I'm sighting in, especially at 50y or less. Then my 40y+ eyes have a hard time focusing on the reticle and the target.

Otherwise, a fantastic blend of lightweight, quality optics, and just the right features.

BTW, on a 16" barrel .223, I recommend the low velocity reticle. It seemed to match up better for me.

Considering the use to which most put the 2.5-10X32, an adjustable parallax would be a liability. It's meant to be a compact scope that is fast into action.

No....and if I ordered a USO in this power range Id reckon i'd leave it off in that build too. Its a great scope for hunting and thats what I use it for....KISS

At first I sort of missed it, but I suspect that was more phsycosematic than actual desire. I don't miss it anymore, and love the hell out of the scope.

I don't miss the parallax adjustment at all. Although you do get some error at less than 100 yards or so, it isn't enough to cause you to miss any sort of game size animal or person, for that matter. If you're trying to use the scope to shoot groups at 50 yards, I'd say that you are using it outside of its intended purpose. The 2.5-10X32 is not a precision shooting optic. It is a field/hunting/battle optic and it excels in its intended use.

Personally, I couldn't imagine seeing something that moves that I want to take a shot at and having to adjust the focus on my scope.

If you are looking for a target/precision scope, you're considering the wrong model. Maybe you should be looking to the 3-15X or 5.5-22X. If you just want to hunt and bang steel and keep it in a package that you can hump around with you, then the 2.5-10X is the ticket.

I REALLY wish they would make a FFP model in the 2.5-10x32. It's my primary hunting scope and it would be nice to be able to use the reticle for holdovers/movers when time is an issue. I realize that in theory 2.5 is 25% of 10 but an FFP would still be nicer. Would also like a short sunshade available. It would help keep the rain off the front objective when the caps are open. I'm willing to forgo the parallax adj. for the smaller lighter package. Also, do any of you find that the turrets get a bit mushy when the temps start to fall?

Lack of adjustment isn't an issue for hunting, but would be nice when shooting for groups on paper. I would prefer parallax adjustment over the illumination, but that's just me.

I have not had any issues with the LACK of parallax on the NF 2.5-10x but 50yds and IN you will have an issue with being able to get the scope to focus at 10x.

Great scopes.
I only shoot for groups with them at 100-200 yards but groups in the .3s-.5s are common. I don't expect any better from myself or my rifles regardless of optics.
The same rifles are usually equiped with 5.5-22s and 8-32s but the groups are no different.

I would only see their lack of parallax as a concern when shooting up close and or from a poor position or with an ill fitted rifle. (and even then I wouldn't expect much of a real world difference)

Yes, I wanted parallax adjustment. I also want FFP. These can be options. The only reason I sold 2 of them is the parallax. They are more than capable in their current configuration. I understand the use and compactness as well. FFP, parallax, mil, mil, zero stop, and I will be purchasing again.

I have a 2.5-10x24 NF on a 20" skinny tubed .308 hunting gun. I do not miss it at all.

11 or 12 ounces, depending on the 50 or 56 objective on the 3.5-15.
