Rifle Scopes NF 7-35x & 5-25x FOV comparison

Hello,

Anyone who has BOTH the 7-35x and 5-25x ATACR, can you let me know or even take pictures of a 100yd target at 10x and 15x. I just want to see the FOV.

I’ve owned a 7-35 but never owned a 5-25x.

If anyone has a Razor Gen2 4.5-27x and also has either the 7-35x or 5-25x ATACR and can give me a FOV comparison at 10x and 15x, I’d appreciate it.

I remember using the 7-35x for PRS and wasn’t a fan of the FOV but maybe the 5-25x is better at those mag ranges?

Wish you would've posted this sooner. I just sold my ATACR 5-25 and picked up another 7-35. Working off of memory I can't recall there being a big difference at those magnifactions. At least to my eye. I have no experience with the Razor Gen 2.

I hated the 7-35x for PRS but others are making it work for them. More power to them. But I’m hoping the 5-25x has a better FOV at the mag ranges I requested.

That’s what I’m probably going to get for my ELR rifle. I’m not concerned about FOV for those distances.

If I had to pick, I’d probably take the 7-35. I don’t notice a difference in image quality at all and I like having the extra magnification on hand if I want it.

That’s what I wanted to hear haha. I also heard from a couple people now that 7-35 has a little better glass. Your head to head comparison will be helpful for us for sure ??

Well boys, as promised, here are my pictures from the range today. Sorry for the crappy photos. Hope this helps you guys make a decision. This is actually the first time I’ve compared these scopes side by side myself. I will say that I do notice a slightly better quality image on the 7-35. Didn’t see a difference in FOV though.

FOV looks very similar, slight edge to 5-25 maybe? Depth of Field looks like it goes to the 5-25

The 7x comparison is a noteable difference the 25x, not so much.

525 looks like it has better FOV. However it may not truly be at 7x exactly. The numbers on the ring are just estimates. What makes you say the DOF is better on the 5-25? I couldn't really see a difference.

Just found this thread. I'm also looking to purchase a 7-35 MILXT and wanted to see the two side by side. So for those who already own them what are your thoughts regarding 5-25 vs 7-35 FOVs? Main application will be for PRS matches with the occasional move to a 300 win mag if I want to really stretch legs.

Don’t own the 5-25 anymore, went to the 7-35. The difference of FOV is very minimal in my opinion. Obviously a slight edge when comparing them both dialed down at 5 and 7. But overall very minimal difference. Again just my opinion from having used both

Personally I find the glass on the 7-35 a bit better. I have the 5-25 on my PRS gun atm. I’ll probably be getting the 7-35 for the ELR gun.

l can attest for this. Over the last 2 years slowly my NightForces have went from 5-25 to 7-35. I truly don’t feel it is a massive jump in quality, but for the price range of the two I found it to be a small step to get what I think is a better / more versatile scope (7x35).

This purchase will be my first entry into the nightforce space so I figure might as well go 7-35 so as not to get a 5-25 only to try and sell it and get a 7-35 down the road.

If set up the same and at the same actual magnification, the 5-25x56 has a slight edge in FOV across the board. About 3% mroe.

In terms of image quality, 7-35x seems to be a bit better than the 5-25x based on the samples I have seen, but the difference is fairly small.

Excellent choice. Just throw on a Spuhr 4002 and you’ll be good to go.
