NP-R1 for the 3.5-15x MOA Second Focal Plane: Sub-tensions will be easier use. But, for a 2.5-10x in MOA we would recommend the NP-R2.

For a 3.5-15x F1 in MOA, go with the new NP-RF1

Re: NF NP-R1 or NP-R2???

I would argue the answer lies in your intended use. As an all around reticle (Range and hunting) the NPR2 is the better choice. If this is a paper/steel shooter, the NPR1 is the better choice..

Re: NF NP-R1 or NP-R2???

I used the NP-R2 for a long time in local precision rifle matches. I managed to make it work but I found a lot of times where I wish I had the NP-R1, especially when it came to range estimation and holding for tricky winds. The NP-R2 doesn't go to the ends of the glass like the NP-R1 but I don't feel either of them are "busy".

I've recently switched to a USO and love the fine subtenstions of the CMG MOA reticle.

Re: NF NP-R1 or NP-R2???

depends on what you are doing, if you want to range with your reticle, the npr1 is the way to go. a lot of people do find it busy, but if you can get past that, it works well. personally i hunt with the npr2, and can still get a rough range estimate, but it isn't as easy as it is with the npr1.

Re: NF NP-R1 or NP-R2???

I have the NP-R1 on my 5.5X22X50 and like it a lot. I have not found it to be "too busy".

For me it made the most sense based on my particular needs/wants. I do not think I would have been as happy with the NP-R2.

Re: NF NP-R1 or NP-R2???

Very happy with the NP-R1 it's not busy. I think you'll know that the second you look though it. It's easy for hold overs and wind.
I've also shot using the NP-R2, but only @ 100 yards.

Re: NF NP-R1 or NP-R2???

My first two NXS 5.5-22x50 had the NP-R2 reticle. I decided to switch to the NP-R1 and I've never been happier. I love the NP-R1 reticle and as others have said, it's better for ranging and is also darker.

Re: NF NP-R1 or NP-R2???

This, if the npr2 had smaller wind marks, I think I would like it better. I have the npr2 and find it not difficult to split the 2moa vertical, but the 5moa horizontal is too much.
