The other day at the range I had a brain fart and pulled the elevation cap off the SHV and proceeded to turn the screw in the center of the turret (inside the brass). This is not how you zero this turret.

I contacted Nightforce to see what this screw did and if I may have screwed up the turret. I was told that it adjusts the tension of the clicks on the elevation turret, so I when I got home I proceeded to fiddle with it. My SHV turrets now feel awesome and more distinct and audible, comparable to my NXS turret. SWEET......just do not over tighten or you could cause damage.

NF told me to adjust in half turn increments and test. If I felt tension on the screw back off a half turn. I ended up turning it all the way in until tension and backing off half a turn.

Pretty sweet discovery, I'll be adjusting mine and then doing a DOPE check to make sure it didn't dick anything up. I'm sure it won't but you never know.....

Hot dang, that is an excellent find. Like so many products out there we have another undocumented feature (well, I just checked the owners manual and couldn't find it). Thanks for posting.

This is cool, my NXS Compact 2.5-10x42 has this same brass ring in the center of the top turret, I'll have to see if this info crosses over...thanks for posting.
