Have a 5.5-20 that I believe may need to go to Orifino for some warrenty work. If what I describe is legit sounding let me know. I intend on having a buddy check it out as well before I act.
after setting the focus/parallax I'll send a round but the follow up to check impact is blurry as though it needs to be refocused. Is this possibly me or does this sound like a mechanical issue with the scope?

Could be either... Try putting a small story mark on the parallax knob and scope body to see if it is moving during recoil. Other than that concentrate on your cheek-weld and follow through during the recoil pulse. Or have somebody watch you to see if your head is moving/flinching during recoil.

I have a buddy who owns a schmidt and bender 12-50 that had the same problem. It required warranty work.

It's a long shot but also make sure and check to see if your diopter is set to your eyes... it could be that it looks in focus because your eye adjusts when you're about to make the shot, and then when recoil occurs, your it falls out of focus faster than your eye can focus it.
