Rifle Scopes Night force problems

Re: Night force problems

I own several NF scopes and over the years have had to deal with their customer service by sending scopes back. In every instance, I got perfect service and was never charged, even when the scope was a few years old.

You are dealing with people and in every business you may have someone that requires "retraining", or the guy might just be having a bad day. It is generally a good idea to go back and explain the problem again with your disappointment with the last contact. Important rule - don't be rude to customer service people. Just be calm and factual. You can get more accomplished with honey than with vinegar.

Spoke with Ken and told him my action was out for some work and was wondering what the cost would be for them to look it over during this time. He said the only thing it would cost me was shipping to them. He said they would go thru the scope completely and clean and repair anything out of spec and pay for shipping back to me. I haven't gotten it back yet but my initial impression could be nothing but positive. </div></div>

Did you get a chance to compare your scope to other NFs? Just asking, because that pretty much describes how they look and how the parallax seems to work. Their glass isn't that good, but their mechanicals are unmatched as far as I know. I love my NF and my next scope will most likely be NF since I feel so confident in their reliability. This thread surprises me; when I think NF, I think of things like bank vaults and granite.

Re: Night force problems

I bought a USO from a fellow here on the site. It got to me with a seriously canted ret. I called USO, Jeff had me send it in. They not only fixed the ret., they returned the scope to factory adjustments, and bottomed the travel on the elevation (EREK) so all I had to do was zero my scope and return the knob to zero for a zero-stop. FREE OF CHARGE, and in 2, TWO weeks, counting shipping times to and from. Remember, this was a scope bought SECOND HAND!! They didn't have to do shit for me, but Jeff took care of me as if I had just bought the scope new from them.

Had a similar experience with NF, except with an adjustment knob. Called Ken up, and he took care of me no questions asked, no shit given.

Both companies are the tits!!

Talking about your experience, everyone that owns a Nightforce, or just talking out your ass?

Re: Night force problems

I'd say you should have hand tightened it, I'm guessing you used some kind of small torque wrench?

If it was me, I'd drive to Nightforce myself and raise hell, they're about an hour from here.

Re: Night force problems

Perhaps if you would use your other face to see thru your scopes your opinion would change. You USO fan boys! (but USO does make a good scope)

My experience and that of my friends is what I am commenting on. Our SWAT is issued NF - w/o any CS problems, etc.

Re: Night force problems

Yours and your friends experience doesn't make you an expert on the amount of times Nightforce's customer service is needed anymore than mine does for USO or Schmidt&Bender. That was a ridiculous comment to make, considering that you are a mere fraction of the Nightforce community.

I'd say you should go back and actually READ the original post. He explicitly tells you what he used. I'll give you a hint: IT WASN'T "some sort of torque wrench".

Re: Night force problems

Respectfully, I qualified my comment by saying, "this sounds like the NORMAL great NF customer service <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">I</span></span> hear of." Do you see the word "<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF0000">I</span></span>" in my comment. This was a personal comment from my experience and those I'm around. Where did I claim to be an expert? Where did I say I represented the WHOLE NF experience? Learn to READ and NOT make assumptions caused by your personal prejudices....

Not to offend any NF fans, but nothing is 100%, the important thing is the yield rate and customer service. As far as "MY OWN" (not to get jumped on like Doc1911

) experience goes, NF treated me well when even the smallest thing like debris inside the lenses.

There must be a story that we don't know yet, but that's just my wild assumption, and I am surprised NF hasn't chime in yet.
