I'm looking at a simpler optics mount for my rife than the current picatinny/Badger combo.
I have no intention of swapping scopes and the Nightforce setup seems like a good solid mount.
Has anyone had a negative experience with this mount?
Right now I'm using a 6.5-20x50 Leupold and plan on using an 8-32 Nightforce next year.
Is the high( 1.125) meant for a 56mm objective?

Thanks

Re: Nightforce direct mount

Its a great mount, very well made, strong and light. My only complaint is there lowest is higher than I like. I run a 50mm obj NXS and had to add a stock pack to maintain my cheek weld. If it were .2 shorter I'd have no complaint. The lowest would accommodate the 56mm. I am running a m24/m40 profile barrel on that rifle.

Last week I decided to try a DNZ mount and while it is still new and only has 40 rounds on it, I have no reason to believe it will give me any problems in the strength or durability department. I was a little cautious at first with it only having one ring screw on each side but after it arrived and got to reading up on its design and holding it, I have no reason to believe it would ever allow the scope to slip. It uses grade 8 screw on all screws (ring screw threads are .5” long) and has a recommended torque of 22-25 inch pounds on all screws. Ring width is very close to that of the NF. Time will tell.

It’s mounted here on my Remington Tactical 308 with a second hand Leupold 3.5-10x40 m3. The tube was scared by the previous owner... but functions fine.

It too is well made, has 20 MOA built in and is significantly cheaper, with lower heights available than the NF. This is DNZ's med height. Flat bases go even lower but this base should work with a 50mm as well.

Re: Nightforce direct mount

Thanks guys. The rifle has an adjustable cheek piece so height wasn't much of a concern.
I've wondered if DNZ mounts are any good.
To be honest the name gave me pause.
