Planning to get a Tikka T3x Tac A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor and begin my quest of learn the in's and out's of precision rifle shooting... Been looking at and reading every bit of information I can on current optics. That said I'm a picky person in nearly every aspect of my life, I prefer premium things and usually would rather have the premium item or nothing at all.
Is the Nikon a decent setup to start with and is the tracking still spotty or has that been resolved? Locally I have the opportunity to purchase one brand new from a dealer in 4-16x Illuminated XF-MRAD for $500, or should I save and spend the money on a higher end offering? I haven't had the opportunity to handle it personally but I am use to shooting rifles with Nightforce and higher end Leupold scopes.
This will be playing double duty in rifle season for deer if that sways anyone's opinion.
