So I am around 6'1''-2'' in that area, around 210lbs. I dont work out often but the side jobs I do for extra money have a lot of physical labor in them so my arms and legs are a good size.

My only problem is my stomach. Im turning 23 this year and all through school and a little after I played football, basketball, and ran.

Now my stomach is starting to reach out and I cant make it go away.

Ive tried eating healthier, dont sit ups, pushups, and occasiional walking.

Care to give me some advice? I dont really want a six back, just want to be my old slim self again.

To add, I did borrow a p90x video from a friend this week and I dont think I made it through half the first video without being KILLED.

And what exactly did this entail??

What does you daily eating look like , be totaly honest about everything you put in your mouth , soda , even that "100 calorie" pack of cookies

Re: Not Happy with Stomach...

Take a serious look at what you eat.

1) Eat breakfast everyday
2) Eat more often (4-6 times a day)
3) Eat smaller meals
4) Eat healthy meals

Cut out fried foods, mayonnaise, foods high in sugar, etc.

A diet is not something you do for a period of time, it's how you're going to eat for the rest of your life.

Exercise is great but it ALWAYS comes down to what and how you eat. And whatever you do, don't starve yourself.

Keep on the PX90 you'll improve over time. When you played it football probably wasn't easy either

I have a thing against mayo

But it's 2/3 fat and basically empty calories. Almost no one doesn't eat enough fat, anorexics and hyper athletes maybe an exception. Cutting out crap, like mayo, is an easy thing to help balance out a diet.

Starting P90X by borrowing a DVD from a friend and trying to finish the first routine is a waste of time. All you will get is sore and discouraged. P90X is a great routine if you follow it. Start from the beginning and follow the diet and exercise routine and I swear you will change you body type.

"Washboard abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym"

From what I can tell it all boils down to genetics, what you eat, & how much. A caloric deficit will make you lose weight, but you still have to be eating the right stuff, and proper amounts, if you just want to lose fat.

I'm struggling with pretty much the same problem, but am making small steady gains by keeping my diet in check. I've lost 35 pounds so far, but it's obvious my belly is going to be the last thing to disappear.

Shooting for a high protein, moderate fat, low carb diet, with a 500-1000 calorie deficit should produce positive results.

Re: Not Happy with Stomach...

If you can get ahold of the nutrition guide for the P90X it works! I have dropped 24 pounds in 6 weeks of doing P90X and using the nutrition guide. The other thing that has been a big help is the posts in this section. There are some very knowledgeable guys on here and if you read the posts there is tons of great info.

JJones75 and Canman are great sources of info and always seem to be willing to help anyone.

I wouldn't be where I am now without the encouragement that I got from JRose.

Thanks guys for all the posts and info.

It takes time, effort, and a solid committment to get it done but it will be worth it in the end. I actually put on a shirt today that I wouldn't wear because it was tight in the gut...it's loose now.

P90X works IF you are eating right!
