In its never ending quest to alter the news and give us only the facts that Google executives want us to know....

Now they are creating a tool designed to crack down on hate speech.... of course, they have decided what that is.

Be careful what you say in Socially Unacceptable Humor Thread guys! The PC police are coming for your thoughts.

Cheers

I stopped when I read this. Fuck the commie liberal buttfucking cocksucking assholes.

"Google’s freely available software, known as Perspective, is being tested by a range of news organisations, including The New York Times, The Guardian and The Economist..."

The EU has forced large digital organizations to sign a code of conduct demanding them to hunt down and eliminate "hate speech," with the threat of cutting them off underwater, so to speak, lest their subjects, who lack free speech, get triggered and subsequently butthurt -- or inspired, more likely.

Well in my local news comments section I get censored all the time. All posts have to be approved. Yesterday a LEO shot and killed a suspect who pointed a gun at him (other suspect was arrested with out injury go figure). Anyway I posted "Play stupid games win stupid prizes" they wouldn't approve it any of the 3 times I tried.

If an actual human is approving them like my news or a couple of fourms I am on then it will be tough to find a end-around. But if it is a computer algorithm then there would be ways to get by it. At least for a time.

We use perspective to move information in construction and I hate it. Unfortunately the good apps like submittal exchange are pricing themselves out .

It's amazing how much subjectivity can be applied to what is considered "hate speech". Where I work, in order to qualify ( and meet a criminal threshold) the person, by their speech must incite such hatred that some form of violence is likely the result.

The term is getting applied to stuff that people simply disagree with, and attempt to turn policy or principle arguments into morality by calling others "hateful". It's really all about shutting down discourse and with that, thought. Yikes.

We welcome comments about our articles.....except for comments that we, well.........don't welcome.

Absolutely dead-on. Their "hate speech" is actually what we once knew as "free speech." Speech that explicitly calls for the infringement on someone else's rights is not Constitutionally covered, but everything else is. However, if this stuff is only being instituted on privately-owned sites, it is their right to implement. My concern is that this is only the beginning of where this technology will be utilized.
