Night Vision NV photography

Now that I have a 14, I’m wanting to expand my uses for it. I know it’s possible from wigs Nox thread but not sure of how it’s done.

I’ve seen some videos where the 14 screws into the lens of a camera with an adapter but I wouldn’t think it would work so great as you would have the same problems as with a clip on.

It seems to me that putting it on the ocular end of a scope or spotting scope would yield better results. Is this possible and if so is there an iPhone adapter or mini digital camera you guys might recommend for pictures and recording? Or a go pro might be another option?

Help, insight or links would be appreciated.

PS I have a swaro spotter that I’d preferably like to use instead of buying another of those.

I've been using a cheap adapter I bought off of Amazon. Hooks my phone to a pvs 14 and allows me to take decent photos and videos.

If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a thousand times if I can’t afford the UTC, I can’t afford liquid hydrogen cooled telescopes. Lol.

I have an Orion 10024 Dobsonian. Bought it just before Christmas 2019 and it’s still in my barn strapped to the pallet it came on.

Had the best of intentions, but spent >300 days overseas.

The problem with 14’s is they end up behind the day optic or spotter and it typically results in a shit ton of ambient light loss once it’s funneled through spotter prisms and such. It works but it’s less than ideal. If you’re using it for target work you need supplemental illum to make it viable. As to mounting it, there are plenty of options like the badger ordinance snap kit or similar.
