Who's running one? How has the parallax, eye box, and DOF been? I really want this scope to work on my Vudoo...and I really don't want to have to get a 7-35 ATACR.

I've plinked around with my dad's on his ruger. I think it does very well. It doesn't seem to have a picky eye box. I haven't tested anything close range with the parallax, other than 50 yards, and it did fine. I love the scope.

I'm not going to lie tho, the new vortex strike 5-25 I put on my Bergara b14r is my preference. Turrets aren't as nice, but the 34mm tube gives you that nice FOV to pick out crowded 22lr targets during a match. So much less money too.

Only difference I can see on 4-32 vs. an ATACR ( had both at same time, side by side) is the NX8 has a VERY slight fisheye at highest powers (28-32) on the very edges of the FOV. Everything else was very comparable, enough I would never pay the extra $$ for an ATACR.
I only compared on my 400 yard range over a couple weeks under varying conditions, so longer distances may show other discrepancies.

Escape Velocity.....34mm vs. 30mm tube has nothing to do with wider FOV. Look up @koshkins explanation of this in his other posts.

I'm aware of that BUT there is quite the difference when looking between the two. Again, this is a preference and up to the OP to ultimately decide. I've always had minimum requirements for features but aside from those, the rest start to feel like diminishing returns... Glass is better in the NX8, and build quality so don't misunderstand what I'm saying here as I compare it to a strike eagle.

Mine parallaxes down below the advertised minimum. I don't touch the parallax much during matches. The last match I ran, all the courses of fire started at 50 or 75 and ended at 200 or 210. I usually run right at 12x w/o adjusting much. At full 32x, it's dark and agree the the fisheye statement above. But I rarely go that high because my bolt interferes with the mag knob. I don't find the eye box difficult either but I'm sure it's giving something up w/ a 30mm tube and 8x erector and overall tube length. Tracks well for me. Turrets and parallax dial are perfect. Mag dial can be used w/o the little include knob but the knob works so well, I don't know why I wouldn't use it except that bolt handle interference issue. I cannot comment on the other mentioned scopes.

I’m on the fence about getting an nx8 for my voodoo before it gets here or stepping up to something else. This helps me know I would be fine with the nx8 but ultimately I can’t decide.

i agree with this.

while the NX8 is nice for a 22, i think the strike eagle checks more boxes for me. locking turrets, 15y parallax with numbers, budget. reticle.

I have both the NX8 and the Strike eagle, the Mill-C or XT reticle is better than the ebr7(in my opinion). For NRL type shooting I like .2 hash marks and the ERR7 just has a .5 hash mark. I also don't like locking turrets (I prefer a locking or capped windage). The NX 8 is a much better scope mechanically and I think optically), which is why it costs $1200 more.

and thats why there are options

and why 'better' is subjective
