Even when using more temperature stable powders, wouldn't it be a better idea to run OCW testing at your average shooting temperature? I want to run another group of loads, but the 30 degree temp has me hesitant. With the low temp, would for instance a 40.8gr load shoot more like a 40.2gr load, basically ruining the test?

A better idea, sure, but you can still start to narrow it down. I don’t think that you would see .6 of a swing though, maybe a tenth or two max. The hodgdon extreme and imr enduron powders I’ve developed hunting loads for during the winter still shoot well in the summer.

Understandable on both points. My question is since the temp can make a load shoot "lighter" effectively changing barrel "wave", with warmer temps the poi will shift as barrel "wave" changes, but grouping should stay relative?

Brain fart..... changing temps will technically move the poi to the next higher or lower load.....hence the point of the OCW testing. Guess I just had to think a little harder.
