OCW test results. Help needed

I did some initial OCW test today with 175 SMK and 178 AMAX and need some help. Rifle is Savage 10 308 with 26" bartlein m24. AR comp powder. Lapua once fired with 65% neck size only. Fed 210m primers. I followed the exact directions in OCW website. The pics attached include the fps from only 3 shots taken for the test just to get some idea. Im thinking maybe #2 for 175SMK and #5 for 178 AMAX. Im not too happy with speed for #2 SMK but then again the FPS was low across the board today.

I would try #4 again for the 175smk AND the 178 AMAX. Looks like you threw one of the shots in #4 on the 178 AMAX.

I like 4 on SMK and 3 on AMAX as well... it's possible that the left shot in that group 4 with the AMAX was a pull... there's no trend in that direction at the next higher charge level, if you see what I mean.

Thanks everyone. #4 SMK and #3 AMAX it is. Ill try at 200yds as well next time. Once I confirm the results I'll try 0.010" and 0.030" off the lands next

Fed 210m is non-mag match primer, but ive tried fed 215 mag primers and my luck was similar to yours

I would re-run them both. The 175 SMK starting at 40.6 and go to 41.4 and the 178 Amax at 39.5 to 40.3 both in .2 gr increments. I think you will find a real sweet spot in there somewhere.

I setlled on 41.0 for SMK at lands 2680 fps and 40.5 for amax 0.020" off lands at 2650fps. Both are on slow side but shoot very nice specially the amax. Besides I got 2000MR/178 bthp combo when I really want to let them fly

My bad. I only run CCI thought the M was magnum. I ran IMR 4895 with both 175 smk and 178 amax. .1 and .2s very often at 100. 4.1" at 500 was the only distance group I fired on paper. 5 shots.. But I agree with these guys 3&4 on smk. And 178 is a no brainer just double check.. I've shot a few fluke 1 holers
