All I ever see is 308, 6.5Cr, 6Cr, 260, and the rare 7-08
Why none of the shorter calibers that let you load long and still fit in the magazine like 6x47 Lapua or 6.5x47 Lapua?

I can understand that a 6 Dasher, 6BR, 6BRA, or 6BRX would just not feed due to the short and fat shells, but that would be a cool set up.

Obviously, I'm talking custom barrels and reloading not so hot loads. However, I could see a faster powder with a long gas system running hot behind the 6BR and variants.

I think the 6 BRX was available in an AR15 from AR15PERFORMANCE a few years ago. It used a custom barrel extension and oversized bolt for the 0.473" rim.

You might do the same thing with a bolt and barrel extension from a DPMS G2.

Typically the large frame AR hasn't been chambered in many odd calibers because it's a lot less common and more expensive than an AR15.

I’ve got one of these ARP barrels but in 6.5BR. It’s a 20” SPR contour. It’s just been sitting around gathering dust for a few years so if anyone is interested PM me about it.

True, but I'd still lose enough to make me sad.
Brass catcher. You don't really lose any, and the receptacle changes the ejection flight just enough that you get fewer really dinged up case mouths. Tune the gas a bit and a 308 isn't too bad on Lapua brass. Ask me how I know...

Hard to believe he crammed the 6 br into a small frame ar15. Must use a short freebore. Is it able to hold full house loads? What magazines?
Id rather have br or dasher in Ar10, xl gas, 26" with a .104 freebore and use pmags.
In Ar15 it would have to be 6br 26", xl gas. However the current TAC 6 would be promising with a 26" tube

My 308 is easy on brass too. I'm running a JP bolt and SP10 barrel, Seekins adjustable GB with intermediate gas. No scratches from the barrel extension, no extractor marks, no dented case mouths and only a barely noticeable bright spot from the ejector. I would feel comfortable running Lapua in it.

Brass catcher.
Not gonna lie, I've considered one but never been able to make the purchase. 80% of that is vanity, hard to be cool when you don't look cool. The other 20% is that it would legitimately get in the way in a lot of the positions and a lot of the tight spots I shoot in/off of.

I think he had the reamer set up for 123gr bullets. His load recommendations I think were on the hot side, 33.5-34gr Varget under a 123gr Scenar/SMK/A-max. Supposedly the old PRI 6.8 (non-waffle pattern) mags worked okay. The current design PRIs give you a few rounds reliably. I should have stuck with the 264lbc I was originally after.

A brass catcher is one of the reasons I want a prs caliber Ar10. Can't put them on a bolt action and run the bolt

123 gr? Aren't you talking about a 6.5 wildcat?

Not a full size cut I threw a couple of parts in my basement together on my 22lr vudoo, works so well I’m sticking with the prototype..

Plastic shaft attached to a old scope ring I had laying around.

It can be done, on a weekend.
Open frame with a mesh bag.

My old rig when it was a 6 SLR. It shot phenomenally, but losing brass was a pain. When it was shot out I rebarreled it in 6.5 CM, then sold that barrel and am going to make it a 6 CM when I get some time.
