Hey guys. As I type this I am out of town on a hunting trip and I'm using m new LMT MWS. After the morning hunt today I was unloading the chamber and just happened to notice that the 175gr SMK was LOOSE in the case. I was able to actually pull the bullet completely out of the case. Now, I've been hunting all week and unloading the chamber twice a day and then putting that round back in the mag so it's been chambered 14 times this week.

I've been noticing that it takes a little more effort to pull the charging handle on these MWS versus your usual AR, and I've also seen scratches on the bullet, but from what I've read here this is all pretty typical stuff for these guns. What I'm wondering is if I've just chambered this round too many times and loosened up the SMK or if this round is a problem.

This is FGMM 7.62 175 gr SMK. What say you?

Any chance the round is into the lands and you have been pulling it out every time you unload. Do you have access to a Hornady OAL gauge? Could be short chambered/throated. You can paint the bullet with a Sharpie marker and look for marks from jamming the bullet.

or

...repeated chamberings have caused enough inertia to start the bullet out of the brass. Typically that op causes the bullet to seat deeper though.

It could be that the bullet was gradually pushed forward by numerous chamberings and got stuck in the rifling which loosened it.

When I hunt with my AR I have a loaded mag and one in the chamber all day, at the end of the day I take the mag out as well as that one round and I do not re-use it. If you look at it I bet the firing pin made a small indent on the primer, enough of those and I would be worried about a slam fire. Just my 2 cents.
