Sure looks like the one I've got on my 18" .338LM barrel....

Thanks! It’s the Cadex MX1 brake and it’s what I threw on because it’s the only 5/8x24 brake I had spare. I agree though, on my A1 covert that I had with a 22” barrel I had a MDT elite brake and the felt blast was terrible. I’ve since concluded that brake is a garbage design anyway and I’ll try out the Cadex to see how it goes but I anticipate similar. I was actually planning on buying the new Insite Heathen gen 2 with 4 or 5 ports. Their new gen 2 design has 90° ports and would probably be a lot more enjoyable to use.Beautiful looking rig. That brake looks really nice. I'd be interested to hear how you like the brake that is on your rifle.
Something thing I have found on the SRS, is that barrels that are at the 22" length produce a fair amount of blast at the shooter when an aggressive muzzle brake is mounted. I have found that brakes with ports that do not vent back towards the shooter are a little more comfortable to shoot on the SRS and especially the Covert platforms.
Something I personally do on my SRS A2/M2 rifles is put a Magpul MLOK Sling adapter on the fore end of the rifle. There just isn't a lot of material in the factory sling swivel holes located on the hand guard. I could see that getting worn overtime and potentially a rifle falling off someone's shoulder when it was slung up. The other thing I have seen is thicker profile barrels coming in contact with the inner portion of some sling swivels when they are used in the factory mountain holes.
Should be pretty close to the SRS A1 as it uses the A1 trigger and has a hand guard coupler similar in design to the A1. The barrel lock feature engages the barrel extension instead of the barrel like on the SRS.Does anyone have or know where to get the breakdown or schematics of the HTI chassis. I'd just like to see how all the parts interact. I watched a show awhile back where a company split an srs in half with a water jet. Pretty cool looking.
Is that a factory bolt or recoated ?I thought I read somewhere that it’s perfectly fine to run the trigger without that screw for the lowest pull weight? Any truth to that?
Also, finally got my March 4.5-28 mounted, hopefully shooting in a couple days.

It’s factory, the latest bolts have a nickel-something coating. Pretty slickIs that a factory bolt or recoated ?
Awesome, thanks for the info. I’m going to order one and give it a go.Yeah, it's only a problem with the M2, as far as I can tell. I shaved-down the MLOK screws/attachments but ultimately had to remove the third from the front. The rail is still solidly mounted with that one missing screw, but I just couldn't get it shaved down enough to prevent it from contacting that truck axle of a barrel.
Is 1.25" still doable - totally, as long as you modify those three screws/attachments. I like mine so much that I ordered a second monster barrel. The added weight is really nice with big magnums.
That's a fine looking rig right there. I really like the look of the Green Chassis and that Vortex Scope! Kind of hard to go wrong with Hornady ELD ammo. Berger makes some fantastic ammo and has excellent brass for reloading (Lapua).Hey folks, after lurking in this thread for the better part of 2 years, I finally joined your ranks with some help from @PRDRIVER.
Until I jump into reloading, what have y’all found works well as far as factory 6.5cm loads? I figured I can’t go wrong with Hornady 140 or 147 ELD-M but welcome any feedback.
143gr ELDX create 1 ragged hole groups from my 6.5CM from PRDriver; one is a 6.5 Factor, one is a 6.5 Proof Research. Both are, as I describe to friends, boringly accurate. Castrate a Gnat accurate.Hey folks, after lurking in this thread for the better part of 2 years, I finally joined your ranks with some help from @PRDRIVER.

The 130 Berger has been the most accurate factory 6.5cm ammo I’ve found to date.I just picked up some berger 130 hybrid OTM factory loads and they shoot great. I'll most likely switch to 140 after the barrel is broken in but in the meantime I'll get 200 lapua casings for handloads.
I got lucky, all the same lot!The 130 Berger has been the most accurate factory 6.5cm ammo I’ve found to date.
Should have bought it by the pallet when it was more available. Too poor to do it now.
Looks fantastic. That is pretty much exactly how I would set one up for myself.Fun at the range today... 416 doing its thing... View attachment 8243137View attachment 8243140View attachment 8243144View attachment 8243146

how's it shoot? target pics?
If that’s a DT barrel, try VARGET or RL15 or AR-Comp w the 178sGot to shoot my M2 today, man I’ve missed owning one of these rifles! After a ridiculous amount of dry fire this week the bolt has smoothed right up. Loaded up some 178eld-m’s in fresh Lapua brass with cfe223 and a previous favourite load 46.5. Didn’t love it as much as my previous 308 but this was more for zeroing and fire-forming a few cases. Accuracy was around 1moa, speed averaged 2730 with sd of 13 over 25 shots.
I’ve found cfe likes to be right up near max and I’m getting zero signs of pressure at 46.5, going to slowly work up next session.
Also, the Cadex brake was actually pretty comfortable shoot. Very little felt concussion, if any.

needs a slight right adjustment, which i was going to do this morning, but a cold front is moving through so its raining.. The issue I've had is the system doesn't hold the zero.. This is the third time ive zeroed this gun.. ill refine the zero on the next trip to the farm, but if it loses zero again I'll be looking for warranty work on something..
TheI think the 452 MTAC is 2.097" OAL
Will make a difference on Spin Drift at range
I would try another optic.... I had SO MANY issues with ZCO,s ...including the 8-40!View attachment 8243519

100%, i had no issues prior to this optic... what a waste of $$$$I would try another optic.... I had SO MANY issues with ZCO,s ...including the 8-40!
I haven't been happy with mine...My local Gunshop here will no longer sell ZCO ...just 2 weeks ago they had a customer shooting at the local range have POI issues with a 338 Lap rifle....changed out the ZCO for a Burris XTR and the POI issues disappeared.
They ( the store) have had several issues with ZCO,s
.
Hearing what you are saying is certainly concerning. My experience however has been the opposite. I’ve been running a few ZCO scopes and not had any issues. We have sold a number of them to customers. I have not had a customer come back and tell me they’ve had an issue with a ZCO they have purchased from me. Usually customers will let us know if they are having issues with gear they purchased from us. Frequently we have customers who are coming back to buy a second or third ZCO after picking one up.My local Gunshop here will no longer sell ZCO ...just 2 weeks ago they had a customer shooting at the local range have POI issues with a 338 Lap rifle....changed out the ZCO for a Burris XTR and the POI issues disappeared.

I’ve certainly seen many different brands of optics have an issue over the years. Wether it was a customer reporting an issue or watching a competitor at a match. I remember a top tier Uber expensive brand name scope completely crap out on a competitor at a National PRS match that I hosted. You could hear the lens with the reticle just bounce around in the scope as he shook the scope.Every optic, no matter who the manufacturer, is prone to have some fail at some point. Writing off what is considered by many to be a phenomenal product because you had one that encountered an issue, rather than reaching out to the company to even look at, well... you're eventually going to run out of options then if you shoot a lot.

Not one.....I had 6 ZCO,s and 3 failed..Every optic, no matter who the manufacturer, is prone to have some fail at some point. Yeah... I totally believe that statement, lol.Not one.....I had 6 ZCO,s and 3 failed..
I had 4 ...5-27,s and 2 ...8-40,s
You want to ask my dealer?Yeah... I totally believe that statement, lol.
The defensiveness of folks on here when you have negative feedback on a ZCO is kinda odd.. I remember reading your experience with ZCO a while back I believe, prior to purchasing mine. When i bought mine someone had made the comment about my serial number and i should be good to go.. I remember thinking it's a new brand and there will be bugs to work out, but we should be past that at this point..Not one.....I had 6 ZCO,s and 3 failed..

I bring this up due to the above issues that @HTI-416 is experiencing.......as at least 6 individuals I know in Aus have had issues with the erector and POI variations on ZCO,s....so not just me.
Yep... all manufacturers can have issues for sure....but here in Aus ZCO sure has many more than I consider acceptable!!
