Thanks. That is not by choice ( eleveation for that zero is .4 mils from absolute bottom). I dont mind a 300 yd zero as I rarely shoot at distances less than 300yds. The mil-6 reticle gives a great aimpoint for 100 yards with the -.1 hold under though.

Here's my rifle with the Spuhr mount. I prefer the DTA mount, but I have a 30 MOA taper on my top rail for the length of the rifle. I needed a 0 MOA mount and we don't offer that in a 34mm mount. The Spuhr has some great points, but there are a few things I don't like about them. I'm not getting into that here online though.

Aaaand I officially am working extra shifts to swing that exact setup there Russ. I can't say how good these things look with a Spuhr mount and a can.
I have run PVS 27's with the standard canted mount and flat forend with no issues. There is very few reasons to have a setup like mine and a couple other guys who have it.
It is pretty cool though, haha.

Finally got the .375CT dies and my HTI should be in next week. What would be a good starting powder charge for Retumbo, Bertram brass, 350 SMK's, and Fed GM215M primers? I've seen that some people are using 131-133 grains of Retumbo but I'm not sure about the gun or bullets. I'm at about 350' above sea level, temps currently in the 80's.
BTW, Powder Valley shows 350 SMK's in stock for less than 70 cents each. I realize these aren't the best long range bullets but will start with them until I feel better about sending a $2 bill downrange with each trigger pull. I'll be sorting bullets.

My last SRS was a standard one. 40MOA scope mount on flat top rifle. Ran the 27's on it out in the desert to 400 yards.
My S&B 5-25x56 sits in a SP-4802 and barely clears the rail. I had to choose between taking the Butler Creek covers off each time or filing it down to fit (what I did).
Stinking rain and wind..... I have a new target camera system that needs to be tested out.

How are you perfectionists loading your rounds as far as ogive oal is concerned? Jammed? Jumped? I'm interested in 308 and 338. I am working up loads now and I plan on jamming them .01 just to figure my max charge. I'd prefer to jump though to be sure they fit in the mag as well as not pouring powder all over the place in case I have to eject a loaded round.
My preferred bullets are Berger 175gn VLDs and 300gn OTM Tactical. I've got 500 of each sorted and ready to load for a nice warm day.

Not a perfectionist but I found with my .338LM that 250gr SMK's at .010 to .015 off the lands worked quite well. I fired a 100yd 5rd group of .400 or so not long ago. 97gr of IMR 5010 in Hornady brass with Winchester LR Mag primers. 97.3gr seems to work out about the same in lapua brass. Overall length is 3.745 though I don't have ogive length measurements. They fit the mags of the DT with room to spare. I've loaded some 300gr SMK's as well though I haven't really worked up a load or done accuracy testing with the 300's so I can't say much other than that they will still fit the mags when seated to .015" off the lands.

By the way biffj, where do you shoot at? We are close to each other. I am considering getting a membership at Hillside for their 1000yd range. It's about 90min away from Fishers. I normally shoot out at the Issac Walton League, but they only offer 100yd. I am usually there by myself though which is a huge benefit IMO.

I have a friend in Richmond who has about 275yds on his range where we can shoot most of our stuff. He has a 100yd range as well. Its very nice for setting up chronographs and other stuff that is difficult at public or club ranges. I don't belong to any of the clubs though I occasionally use the DNR range in New Castle for testing suppressors and little stuff. They only have 50yds so its not much good for rifles. Otherwise we normally do a shoot in Wyoming or colorado where we can get out to 1600yds or more. Its a machinegun and cannon shoot but they don't mind if we bring little stuff too. I introduced a lot of people to the SRS and other suppressed rifles at those shoots. We normally do a couple machinegun or rifle shoots at my buddies place during the spring and summer. I'll let you know if something comes up. Its a little over an hour to his place from the north side of indy.

Awesome pic. Hopefully my daughter will be watching my 6 one if these days in the woods. I must say that #3 is artistically fantastic from a photographers standpoint.
Anyone have a qd mount they want to sell that will work with dtss? I am assuming can does not come with one, also assumng can will not directly thread onto barrel.
I had my SRS Hydro dipped in Kryptek Highlander recently and I just put it back together today.
I'm loving it.
Sweet looking rifle. Who did you have dip it? And what did it cost? You can PM me if you want on that. I have a A1 on the way and been thinking about dipping it.

They do a really great job......Kryptek is very hard to work with apparently....very sensitive to what activator you use. Whichever the right one is...they use it, cause the work came out fantastic.

Can the DTA muzzle brake(the bee hive looking one, not the suppressor mount) be used with both .308 and .338LM? I have a .308 coming and wanted to know if I could use it on my .338LM barrel instead. Just wanted to know if the overbore would accommodate the larger diameter projectile. Thanks!
Absolutely. We ran it on all calibers. Nick wanted the most universal parts possible. You are good to go.
Fellows, I have been wanting to use a Parker hale on my dta, it looks like versa pod makes a spigot mount for a pic rail. Anyone ever ran somethng like this? Does anyone have a Parker they would want to part with? Thanks...
Parker hale bipods are heavy and floppy and I don't like them myself. I much prefer the Harris. If you want something else the atlas bipod is pretty good too
I really like the looks of that reticle as well. I have never really been a Horus style reticle fan, but the way this reticle was done seems like the additional holds "blend" well and I focus more on the main cross-hair. Looks very usable!
Just wanted to give you a heads up, I got my rifle today and the DTA brake will NOT accommodate a .338 projectile. I spoke with Ryan today and he said we should get it switched out with one that will work with .338LM. Just waiting on the warranty department to get back to me. I just didn't want anyone else to get a hold of one of these and try to fire a .338 projectile through it. Other than that the rifle looks AWESOME and I'm very happy with it.
It's offical, I bought a Gemtech PSR-T off a customer and will be using it on both my .338LM and my .338BR DTA barrels. According to Gemtech less then 200 are in private hands since they were switched over to .gov sales only shortly after the release. We sold this guy the can originally and it only has about 10 rounds through it, so I am very happy to get it back. It HURT buying two brake mounts for it though....even at wholesale.

That is not our brake that is a TRG22 brake sir. Where did you purchase it? Our old DTA tension screw brake has three baffle ports and each port is differing in size and has a coned shaped diameter. Believe me I designed our brake that Definitely is a TRG22 brake.
