Mine has shot well with 175s. It also does quite well with 168s and even 155s. It doesn't seem to be picky at all. Those of you with a 22" 308 srs a1 barrel with 1/11 twist, what grain bullet are you using? I use 175 smk's in my 16" barrel but I'm not so sure with the 22.

Fuck hs precision.
Also, what is the shortest LOP on the SRS A1 with the spacers removed?

I certainly don't disapprove of that sentiment as HS Precision's actions were completely unacceptable.
I have always used a pack for mine on long walks. No prob!Has anyone wished they had there lighter custom setup on the long walks or the balance of the bullpup make up for it?

I do regret buying mine at the moment but we will see what the outcome of all my warranty issues is and if I get a chance to actually enjoy the rifle without any bullshit or if I’m forced to sell it and move on.
Bought a new A2 chassis with A2 conversion kit (6.5 creedmoor) and two extra mags.
The bolt closes on my no go gauge and cases from factory loads the headspace stretches around 0.006. Which is pretty bad.
Bolt also has an oval firing pin hole and strikes are way off centre.
Every magazine has issues.
Two have bent feed lips and don’t feed or load and one feeds fine but scratches up the brass so had to grind off some of the weld seem to fix that.
So in the meantime I found a new A2 conversion kit (308) and bought that to get me by until my original one is warrantied.
Nope. That one had issues as well.
The second one was supposed to be an A2 conversion kit but the barrel that came with it was a heavily used A2 barrel screwed onto a GEN1 barrel extension and a heavily used A2 bolt with a deep primer pocket ring on the bolt face and again an oval firing pin hole but not as bad as my original.
So the new barrel doesn’t even work however the new bolt did improve the headspace issue a few thou but it’s still too long.
So they’ve got some pretty serious quality control issues.

When Orkan was around I believe he reported that he tried the Dasher, BR, BRA, BRX and other similar cartridges that length were simply too short to feed reliably out of the DT magazine, on the feed ramp, through the extension and into the barrel.
Reportedly the cartridge would pop out of the magazine and be too far from the feed ramp, sitting parallel with the barrel and not slightly angled upwards as the magazine tries to position the cartridge for proper feeding, which causes a jam. The Dasher and 6BR max brass length is around 1.56” (+/- .01 based on your reamer) while the 6.5 Creed max case length is 1.92”. If you run the Desert Tech bolt slow enough on the 6.5 Creed and allow the cartridge to pop out of the magazine, you can get it to jam up too.
I have had my 6xc jam up whenrunning the bolt slow and it’s the same length as the Creedmoor. I haven’t had my 260 or 308 jam when going slow though and they are only slightly longer at 2.03” (+/- a few).
The WSSM’s look like they would also be a problem but I haven’t ran one or heard of anyone using one in a DT.
I know some folks have taken their feed ramp off and modified/polished the feed angle, which helps with feeding, but not enough to make a help a cartridge as short as the Dasher or BR variants feed every single time.
That must be a byproduct of having a chassis that can handle most everything between the 37XC and a 223. There aren’t many downsides to this platform but not every rifle can do everything.
Eric at ES Tactical came out with a new profile that is not on his site. This is 16.5" ultra light weight setup for hunting, comes in at 2 lbs 7 oz. Having a setup just for hiking might be worth it...

i've been running a 338 BR which is based on the 6mmBR Norma cases with 338 bullets and the 6.5X47 in my 1st Gen rifle and have done conversions for a lot of others who are also running them. No one has had any problems with feeding that I know of. I haven't been trying to see how fast I can dump a mag but I also don't load really slow normally and maybe thats the reason for no problems? Too fast or too slow maybe causeing feed issues?
With the BR most of us are running both subsonics with 300 gr bullets and supersonic with short little 180gr slugs. They're a lot shorter with the 180s but still feed fine. The 6.5X47 has had some problems in some converted 308 rifles because its a little short but we haven't had any. The 6.5mm bullets are plenty long and seem to help with the feeding. I've only done one creedmore barrel for a customer and he hasn't had a chance to shoot it yet. I didn't try mag feeding it as I only fired a couple rounds to check the chamber.

What caliber is that? For reference, a factory Covert 308 barrel weighs 3 lb 7 oz.
That is a light profile. How does the accuracy hold up after a few shots?
He can trim more out of the tenon. My SAC 260 has full fluted all the way through the tenon almost to the extension. I’ll pull it later tonight and get a pic. Does it affect accuracy?
NO!

IDK...this was a picture Eric sent me and was a 'prototype' to cut as much weight as possible. I have 2 barrels on order from him so will need to wait and see. For a hunting set up I'm not thinking about the barrel heating up.
