You really shouldn't paint with broad brushes. If they want mine, they know where I live...
When CA passed its first AWB in 2000, it was nasty. All weapons with specific features were required to be registered. No loopholes...register or face confiscation, fines, loss of gun ownership rights and potential prison time. If you registered, you were given paperwork like an NFA document which allowed you to bring your "evil" rifle out and shoot it. Weapons could not be moved out of CA after the law was enacted.
Everyone panicked. Most everyone complied and registered it despite a huge repugnance of doing so. I elected to say fuck you...registered nothing. Lived in peace and harmony for 12 years, left the state and moved them when I left. I would have loved to walk into the CA DOJ and shit on his floor laughing all the while.
If you want to give up, that is your call. Don't lump the rest of us in that mess. Some of us WON'T comply. Can't prove it to you but then again, I don't need to. If they come knocking, well that is going to get interesting. It is estimated that 30 million owners own over 300 million weapons. Thirty million people are quite a force.
Think it through and don't be depressed....no one can force you to comply other than yourself
