Oh great. Thanks LG

"I'm deeply hopeful that this hearing will show very dramatically the reasons why a red flag statue saves lives and why it may even have saved the lives of the Parkland students,"
----------

However, why am I, and many people like me, are still deeply skeptical about "red flag" laws actually working as they intend, instead of being used as a potential weapon in family disagreements that will lead to a lot of innocent lives shattered?

And by the way, much more students at Parkland could have been saved if the one person who was actually in the position and equipped with the right tools to stop the shooter had actually done his job.

Gotta get the story straight here.

What's not straight? Every law tactically designed to destroy our rights was passed while people said "I fully support the second amendment but...'

He's said some soft things in the past about gun control and we have a president who has proven himself willing to toss gun grabbers a bone.

The hearing is expected to cover the "extreme risk protection" or "red flag" laws that have been passed in some states and that Graham has supported implementing at a federal level.

You know what this means don't ya?
Be really careful of what you post online because you be next to get the red flag
They are looking for any backdoor way to confiscate.

Oh I was actually referring to the deputy who could have ran inside the school to engage / neutralize the shooter but didn't.

It was meant to call out Graham's statement about how 'red flag' laws could have saved the Parkland students, but in reality, a good guy with a gun, on top of his game, would have been the real answer.

Exactly. The definition of Red Flag will be vague enough that literally anyone could get popped if they decide to.
Combine this with a dash of constitutionally prohibited spying and you've got a defacto gun ban for anyone on the more extreme fringes of opposition

You're cool man,

As soon as that little spoiled fuckstick made up the decision in his twisted mind to take the lives of innocent students and teachers, no bureaucratic ordinances would have effectively stopped him. The only thing that matters after that point, is to have someone in the right place to be able to deliver a massive kinetic energy dump in the perp's CNS before he gets the chance to crank a round off.

So are they intending to let any asshole call you in anonamus without
legal recourse to the snowflake.

Rule #1 protect lying but hurt snowflake.

LG and the rest of our elected officials (and all of us for that matter) need to ask ourselves a few basic questions:

1. Is the subject under consideration a right? see Constitution for answer - not all inclusive, but if its on the list, er, bill of, then yes, it's a right.

2. Where do rights come from? see Declaration for answer

3. Are there any subjects that government doesn't have the authority to legislate on? see Declaration and Constitution for answer

If the people we elect "to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" would ask these questions about their "good ideas" - and we the people would ask these questions about our "good ideas" there'd be a lot less people getting railroaded, human nature notwithstanding.

God bless America

A friend of mine that I can best describe as Tibetan Buddhist would ask me , " if this is normal behavior for this person why do you choose to be angry when they act this way ? " And yet still WTF . So I'll ask the following questions .
Do the elitist really think they can take all of our guns ?
Are they naive or just arrogant ?
Why do they want war in this Country ?
And lastly when does this insanity stop ?

I think we all need to flood his phones and email inbox with opposition to his back door registration and confiscation. LG and people like him need to remember who they work for, the oath they took, and that there will be push back if this goes through.

I fired off an email, and because I'm not from his district, even though this is at the federal level, he only responds to his constituents. Chicken shit he is anyway. Anybody have a phone number to this pricks office?

After the war! That’s when it stops!

Yes they do.

No they’re not wrong, I’d be willing to bet less than 2500 people would fight back even if we had wholesale forced door to door confiscation and seizure.

But we know it won’t be that. They’ll ban one thing at a time and everyone will go turn their one bad thing in every time like the terrified hamsters deep down we all know everyone is. It’s inevitable and it’s depressing as hell.

I get whay you're laying down but it does a disservice to the rebulicans of past that were somewhat decent.

The only disservice is that we all hate them but none of us are willing to primary these pussies. I had a glimmer of hope during the whole tea party thing but that went tits up faster than you could blink.

You really shouldn't paint with broad brushes. If they want mine, they know where I live...

When CA passed its first AWB in 2000, it was nasty. All weapons with specific features were required to be registered. No loopholes...register or face confiscation, fines, loss of gun ownership rights and potential prison time. If you registered, you were given paperwork like an NFA document which allowed you to bring your "evil" rifle out and shoot it. Weapons could not be moved out of CA after the law was enacted.

Everyone panicked. Most everyone complied and registered it despite a huge repugnance of doing so. I elected to say fuck you...registered nothing. Lived in peace and harmony for 12 years, left the state and moved them when I left. I would have loved to walk into the CA DOJ and shit on his floor laughing all the while.

If you want to give up, that is your call. Don't lump the rest of us in that mess. Some of us WON'T comply. Can't prove it to you but then again, I don't need to. If they come knocking, well that is going to get interesting. It is estimated that 80 million owners own over 300 million weapons. Eighty million people are quite a force.

Think it through and don't be depressed....no one can force you to comply other than yourself

I have absolutely no faith. The majority of gun owners have become bootlickers. I cannot even mention reforming unconstitutional search laws without being told I’m a libtard who “don’t support the BLUE”.

No one around here is fighting any cops dude. It’s just not going to happen.

I’m fucking glad you kept your property. Fuck them. But if you think back, how many people would’ve helped defend you if they HAD come for you? Outside of people living in your house.

There’s not 30 million people willing to fight back, like I said I bet less than 5k would go down swinging across the entire country. Just gotta send the local sheriffs around and the thin blue line crowd will be lining up to relinquish their filthy boom sticks.

How many???? None...not in CA. Even in the small New England town I live today, I wouldn't expect much help, if any. But maybe I am wrong. I haven't lost faith entirely. You got to get out there and meet some like minded people where you live. I have two neighbors in my AO that certainly will be there in bad times. Would they get into it if the grabbers start pounding on my door? Doubtful but that is why you need to
  1. Be careful what information you provide regarding your armaments to anyone. Say nothing. That is one way I got out of the registration without issue. The more people that know what you got, the harder it is to remain the gray man.
  2. Find out about the people in your AO. There are lots of cool ways to do that. Even one neighbor is better than none.
  3. Keep adequate supplies of ammo to outfit helpers should it get bad.
  4. Buy ammo and parts regularly.
  5. Shoot often
  6. Don't worry about DC...they will do what they have a mind to do. Nothing they do has any bearing on my life because I don't let it. Neither should you
  7. Your depression will go away
