I am sure some departments (not this one specifically) will say that wearing a mask will interfere with their ability to properly do their job - even though the same reason might (will?) also apply to the peons.

So what are some valid reasons not to wear a mask?
No big deal to me if I don't get to go to walmart or target, but what happens when the slope gets slippery and every store succumbs to stupidity and requires masks? Claim you have a health issue that prevents you from wearing a mask and use the ADA?

The local county building had signs out front today indicating that "medical proof" was required to claim exemption from wearing a mask. So, Idunno, go talk to your doctor or something? Doesn't seem that complicated. I don't know that this is the epitome of civil disobedience (seems a bit more like the people who claim that their pet is a "service animal" so they can drag it into any store or restaurant that they please), but hey, whatever floats one's boat.

Slightly increases the chance of getting sick if they are cloth masks. Incubates germs right in your face instead of pushing them out onto a surface where they can die over time. There is also no study that shows influenza can be stopped with basic masks that everyone is currently wearing.

Assuming this is really a deadly pandemic, if they worked then great, let's wear them. Instead it is a lie being pushed to increase fear so more controlling measures can be pushed onto the populace. Pretty sure they want to get mandatory ID cards next that show you have been vaccinated within 6 months. Won't be able to shop or work without it. That is my current prediction. Masks are the first step.
C19 is also not a pandemic at this point. May never have been as more stats come out showing which groups were actually dying.

I don't shop at Target but when asked to wear a mask, I simply say that I can't. The people at these stores probably know by now that they cannot ask you why because of HIPPA and the 4th amendment.
If they ask me why I just say HIPPA says I don't have to disclose that reason. If they don't leave me alone then I tell them that I'm going somewhere else to spend my money. It's that simple.
I tell them to have a nice day as I'm leaving.

Tell them that you are medically restricted from wearing one. It doesn't fucking matter if you lie about it. You don't have to prove anything to them. Any proof they may request is private medical information.
My understanding is that Hippa only applies to your employer and it deals with health insurance. My understanding is that the ADA covers you in general public.

Yes, target can do whatever they want, whatever. But in my small town, if Walmart, Kroger, and all other stores that supply my food are requiring masks It makes it almost impossible to get food. I don’t have cows in the pasture or a large garden ready to harvest if all of a sudden these places tell anyone who is a republican they can’t enter tomorrow.
They can do what they want, to an extent. Due to their size, if they want us to hop on one foot before entering their store to get our necessities there will be civil unrest.
I haven't set foot inside a target since I found out they don't support veteran issues back before the turn of the century. So screw 'em. As for "mandatory" mask signs, Gov. Kemp here in Georgia says no mandate so they can suck it. My wife has a health condition that is nobody's business that doesn't allow her to wear one. I had a store manager say something to us about a month ago. I looked him in the eye and said "when you show me the Georgia statute, then it might happen and my wife can't wear one for health reasons." With a smug grin he asked what it was . I said "If I told ya I'd have to sue you, now get out of my face." He stepped aside and then the wife got what she came for. We didn't go back and I called the corporate office and said I would be spending my couple a thousand a year with a competitor.
My local small town grocery store found in most small NC towns could care less so it's the only food outlet besides my cow pasture and garden I visit. I'm really considering sewing up a mask made out of cheese cloth, single ply. I don't think there would be anyone who couldn't see I was giving them a really big FU. Heaven help any Karen who came up to give me shit about my mask.

These big box and grocery stores are owned by corporations who are doing the work of politicians at this point. They are essential food sources for the public due to decades of the government pushing out individualism and self reliance. The politicians push them, they push their customers, and next thing you know I need to show Democratic Party registration papers in order to buy milk. The mask isn’t a big deal, but it makes no fucking point to wear a mask other than being the first step down a slippery slope.
I can’t go down the road and buy eggs from the egg production plant because they have a contract to only sell to their large customers. Same with hogs around here.

I'm for a business having the right to make decisions about masks, smoking/no smoking, etc. I'm for your right to conduct business elsewhere. I'm totally opposed to the government making these same decisions for us. I can even see a business mandating masks out of liability concerns. I guarantee there are already lawyers looking to sue over lack of due diligence. BTW, I'm anti-mask. I think the risk is much lower than it's being portrayed. But I will wear one at work because I see the business's right to decide, just don't want to. I tend to choose stores that don't mandate them, but will put one on if I can't avoid a place with a mandate. I see it as a property rights issue, while thinking they're idiots.
