Ok- so hear me out, I've got a theory about music appreciation.

Brubeks Timeout is still one of the best jazz recordings ever.

Trivia Quiz - Why is "Take Five" named so? It's one of the very few "recognized" songs done in a 5/4 time signature.

The other "recognized" 5/4 song is the original theme to the "Mission Impossible" TV series (Not the Tom Cruise movies... they screw up the theme and make it 4/4).

I’m old, was raised on old county music that my parents listened to. When I was 10 or so I started listening to the dreaded rock music of the 70’s and in the late 70’s and 80’s got to see a lot of the greats in their prime. I still listen to the old stuff rock/blues and country, but like a few of the newish artists. Most new music sounds like it was created by AI and is missing the soul and feeling. I’m around a few music artist and music teachers and they all say the kids they teach all want to learn the stuff from the 70-80’s.
