So as some of you know I guide early season hunts for disabled vets. What that means for me is on occasion I need to carry my equipment, a another persons equipment and quite possibly two rifles. We had some challenges this season with a few guys with severe disability who could barely motivate themselves much less carry anything additional. I had some reservations about the gunslinger 2 pack. I had read here the reports from folks with issues for this reason or the next and I need to say, I don't agree at all. I found it to be very comfortable when adjusted properly and carried as much weight as I could stuff in there. To include two rifles. One carried in the scabbard and one strapped to the back. On one instance with two hunters I had the need to carry THREE and did it successfully with two on the pack and one carried. I'm a mountain pack mule, I live and breathe at altitude. This pack has performed far beyond what I thought it would. Now moving into RTC competition next season I can't think of a better pack to use. Thanks to those who recommended it.

Me and the gunslinger 2 scouting for one more trip before the end of season. About 6,000 ft in the spruce trees on an old logging road. 50 pound load out plus two long runs and ammo. Wind is blowing like hell. Everything is holding tight.

I've got about 50 miles on this one so far and it's perfect. My biggest issue this time of year is keeping my water from freezing. It's almost time to get the cross country ski's out and get going. I try to hike 10 miles a week with a full pack.

I love seeing these kind of reviews where equipment is used hard!
I really enjoy mine. My only complaint is the weight...it's a heavy pack so you are handicapped there. But as you mentioned, adjusted properly it's very comfortable.

I have been using Eberleestock packs exclusively since they were released well over 12 years ago and I haven't used anything else. They are ab great co many and the products are innovative and work. As always highly recommended,

If I am going with anything other than my AXMC I use KUIU packs. Amazingly strong, comfortable carbon fiber framed lightweight packs. I packed out my cow elk last week (boned out) no problem in 2 trips with my KUIU load hauler.

With the Phantom I can comfortably pack my AXMC, 2 RRS tripods, Swarovski BTX spotter, water, food and misc. As already pointed out by atomic41, having your pack properly fitted and adjusted makes all the difference.

I'm not so concerned with the weight of it. I regularly carry 50 plus pounds and a couple long guns. The weight saving of other packs is minimal when you consider the ability to carry one rifle in the scabbard. This one has a metal frame and I have the plastic frame for it as well which would drop a pound or so but it just doesn't give the support I like. With the gunslinger2 I can attach anything I want to the outside, many options for accessory packs. I will also add a side rifle scabbard very soon to get everything protected from the elements. I actually use my equipment and pack extensively. If it had a flaw I would have found it by now. My only problem is getting it back on after setting it down....LOL. Once it's on and siting correctly, no issue at all and I'm ready to do some miles.

Well....we have a couple days left in the season here in Montana and I put my girlfriend in on a LARGE trophy size mule deer. Monstrous main beams, cleared the ears by 10 inches on either side. At least 9x9...big mature buck. He came up the ridge towards us up wind, stood broad side at 100 yards. Tasha was behind a stand of scrub trees squatted down and I was about 10 yards from her. I gave her the shoot signal and she sent a round off into the goddamn ether somewhere I guess as that big boy broke and ran hell bent for leather. No way she hit him. I did due diligence and scoured the area for blood, hair, piss basically anything indicating she might have hit him. Nothing, nada, zip. I tracked that bastard for over a mile hoping to get another shot at him. Some days you get to take the hero pics and some days you go home tired with nothing to show. Shit. I'll see him again, I just hope it's soon.

Pack performed flawlessly again today. Although a slightly lighter load as we were just hiking in one of my sweet spots about a mile from the truck.
