I've been looking at options for replacing the Tupperware stock on my Browning A-Bolt II Stainless Stalker in .308 and hit on the Bell & Carlson Medalist. This is a sporter rifle that goes hunting on occasion but mostly gets used at the rifle range shooting prone with a sling, seated, and standing. The 7779 looks like the one for my rifle.
I'm looking for opinions on this stock, particularly whether the forend affords a good grip (the factory stock is very slippery). I see that one of the Medalist options is a black textured stock, but my eye is really drawn to the black with gray spiderweb finish. Is their MaxGuard finish worth it?
Thanks,
Andras
