Rifle Scopes Opinions on LVPOs for under $650

Hey peoples,

Im looking for a lpvo for my AR shooting something like 300 blackout, both super and subsonic ammo. The max range? probably no more than 300 yards and that's reaching kinda far. Realistically its going to be shooting targets 100 yards away 90% of the time but I need the flexibility for close and far targets.

What features do I want? A 30mm tube and MOA reticle with AT LEAST 25 MOA worth of drop. At 200 yards subs have about 20 MOA drop and supers are 8 moa. The MOA reticle wil be way easier than a BDC that wont match for anything other than middle crosshair.

Some of the scopes I currently have lined up are, trijicon credo hx 1-4 MOA, Sig Tango4 1-4, Athlon Midas BTR Gen2 1-4, and Vortex ranger 1-4. Does anyone have any experience with these scopes? Image quality and eyebox are my other biggest wants. I do like the steiner but the reticle wont reach far enough :/

What’s the difference between the regular version and the law enforcement version? I’m trying to look but can’t find too much info in the LE version.

I just looked at the viper gen2, I like it but seems heavy compared to the rest but I guess that’s cuz it’s 1-6. Is there a big difference image quality-wise for 1-4 and 1-6.

As much as I’d like the Steiner and raving reviews of brightness/clarity the Steiner only has 14 MOA of holdover :/

The SWFA 1-6 HD is outstanding. The best designed FFP LPVO reticle I have seen. The ring is a great CQB reticle at 1x but completely disappears from the FOV at 6x. The center portion works great for long range shots. Glass is very good and mine tracks perfectly. Highly recommend them. They are above the budget you stated but sometimes they’ll show up on The Sample List within your budget.

Consider a 20moa scope base with whatever optic. That should generally resolve the issue of limited total elevation travel.

I like the idea of low powered quick to get on a target and move to another target with some of my ar's especially the shorter ones , but really don't see me at least replacing my larger scopes just to put them on them . Others may want to I am still waiting for even cheaper larger scopes or maybe something digital that can connect directly wirelessly to a cam or ocular implant to allow you to see any target at any rage in any weather day or night if that ever becomes a thing no mirage at any distance or power setting man dreaming is fun .
