I have a LBNIB FN 5.7 USG for sale on another forum and a gentleman hit me up with a trade offer on a nice looking Polytech M14-S. I had a SOCOM II and love the .308 round, but am completely ignorant to anything Polytech.

Can you fellow hiders shed some light on whether or not this rifle is worth $900 or not and it's reliability? Pros? Cons?

Norinco & Poly Tech M14s come with forged receivers, chrome lined barrels, trigger groups and forged 1-piece op rods that are as good as USGI.
The barrel castle nut and gas lock use metric treads, the threads on the receiver side are not metric.

A USGI bolt conversion by SEI or WarBird is advised as are a few other tweaks.

Yes, an unmolested Poly Tech M14 is well worth $900.00... more if it is heel stamped.

I like them
